Residency in Chile Deadline: March 20, 2019 Repost @lawayakacurrent Here in the driest desert on earth in 2019 La Wayaka Current, artist-led initiative is opening a doorway for creators to visit, learn, grow and work remotely on projects that explore pressing issues of our time. We are working in reaction to a global crisis we are currently facing that is forcing us to change the way we live, think and relate to the natural world & each other, before it’s too late. . We long to explore these concerns through deeper connections with some of the most remote, otherworldly, unknown and spectacular parts of our shared home planet. Our fluid, curated program revolves around the native ecology of these sites and the knowledge of our indigenous partners and collaborators, who we are eternally grateful for sharing with over the past 5 years. . We hope to generate new global ecological perspectives through this project, collectively using art and creative practice as a tool for discovery, communication and change. Through looking back in order to look forward for a better future, and reconnecting to our shared roots. . Residency applications are now open ! Apply easily through our online form, we have no application fees and we are currently running an open call for applications from all those interested in these themes inc. creatives, artists, writers, curators, musicians, scientists, activists and others. Working in any discipline, at all stages of their career without prejudice.
