Congress in action on UCC
The Law Commission has issued a announcement concerning the Unifrom Civil Code. UCC in the country and has asked the people of the country to give their written suggestions before July 15.

After the notification of the Law Commission of India, the debate on Uniform Civil Code has started in the whole country. In such a situation, speculations were being made on what would be the stand of the country's oldest political party Congress on this. In such a situation, the Congress Parliamentary Committee will hold a meeting on Saturday (July 1) at 10 Janpath at 5 pm under the chairmanship of Sonia Gandhi.In this meeting, apart from talk over the issues to be raised in the Parliament, the Congress is also going to talk about its stand on the UCC. Along with this, the Congress is going to hold a meeting with all its leaders on July 3 regarding the UCC. Trusted sources of the Congress say that the meeting to be held today will decide the outline of the meeting to be held on July 3 on the Uniform Civil Code.

The issue of civil code has slowly started becoming the subject of headlines and debate since the last few days, when the Law Commission asked the people of the country to give suggestions on it. Last month, by issuing a notification, the Law Commission had sought written suggestions from the people on this issue before July 15. But this issue gained real momentum when PM Modi gave a clear message regarding this to his workers and the opposition through his statement. Prime Minister Modi had told the workers in the Mera Booth-Sabse Strong program in Bhopal that a house cannot be run by two laws, a house will be run by only one law. His statement was a clear message not only to party workers but also to the opposition that BJP is going to take steps on uniform civil code in the coming days.
