"There's a girl. You won't regret this. Now, the lodging is just down the quay, No. 4." He pointed off in that direction and gathering his papers, turned in the opposite direction and left the girl to her own devices.

Taking a deep breath, she muttered, "Well, at least I know what lies ahead for me now."

I don't even know what to say about this one . . . other than a) this list is overkill, and b) this list makes me even sadder for him having to go to high school over and over again, and c) this list makes me even more confused as to what he sees in Bella, who apparently has no interest in higher education at all.
