Note that this is one of Saiyuri’s biggest fears, she doesn’t voice this fear, esp to her sister. This also ties in on why she’s so adamant about family being adopted together bittywise and why she’s so protective of her older sister. This will be taking place before any of our new adoptions at the moment, mainly because I’ve a lot of bitties to find the place of in the shop ^^;
Laminae, Layl and Fajar are from @dotchi13’s shop, Torque and Boisenberry are from @vex-bittys
There was a cry of pain, and a scream of Saiyuri’s name, the aforementioned kitsune seeming to be lashed to the ground despite her struggles to reach out to her sister. There was a shift to the scenery, showing this wasn’t in reality, much more a dreamscape than anything else. Soon flames grew up around the sobbing woman, faces both familiar and unfamiliar taking form.
“Why didn’t you save me, Sai..? Why couldn’t you help me?” The visage of Natsume would speak up, looking saddened and bloody before looking away. “I was depending on you!”
“I tried! No Nat, I wanted to! I swear I did!” Sai pleaded, attempting to reach out, just trying to get her sister to look at her once more. “I never want to see you hurt!”
“You didn’t try to save any of us, what should we trust what you say? You failed your clan. What makes you think you’ll be able to save any of the little creatures that live with you now?” Another voice spoke up, making her ears tuck back and tails coil around her legs.
This visage and the others that loomed around her were unfamiliar and as they approached her, forcing her to shrink back before suddenly a flash of comforting black and warm gold would chase away the specters, the surprise causing her to jerk in surprise, her fear and anxiety slowly tapering down.
The shop was quiet, as everyone had settled in bed for the night, the younger of the two kitsune had settled in her den, with Layl and Fajar snuggled up close to her, Laminae and Dawn both settled in the nursery at the bonsai tree instead. Torque would be keeping watch through the shop despite dozing peacefully. Boisenberry had settled in the nursery as well, alert for any possible trouble or if any of the hatchlings needed him.
It had only been through troubled whimpers and soon tears slipping down her cheeks that would stir the pair of bitties snuggled into the crook of her neck. Exchanging a look, Layl was quick to start consuming the nightmare and in turn siphoning away the fear and anxiety that had flooded Saiyuri. Fajar projected a sense of calm and peace out, working to help soothe her from the terror that had gripped her.
A nightmare like this hadn’t occurred in ages, and in turn the terrified cry and she bolted up would send the brothers slipping from their spot and sliding down to her lap. Even with the calm from Fajar and the funneling away of the negativity from Layl, her ears were still pressed back, scarlet eyes glancing around warily. Teleporting back to her shoulder, Layl would press a hand to Sai’s cheek, Fajar wrapping his little arms around her neck to the best of his ability.
Her Nightmare has seen what her dream had been of, felt the sheer anguish and terror after he’d been stirred. Despite a pang of guilt that both bitties felt at having not caught onto the Nightmare right away, they were soon both gathered into her hand and she nuzzled them both giving a little whimper. Soft words of comfort would follow from both bitties, Fajar snuggled to her cheek as Layl had teleported to her head and began petting over her ears comfortingly.
Torque had poked his head down into the burrow, concern at the jab of fear and terror through their SOUL bond, but at seeing that it was seemingly handled, he’d pull back and continue watch over the shop as peace started to return to the shop.
