“i’m kinda new around here,” she bit her lip, her head tilting to the side as she glanced around the town square. “what’s there to do for fun?”
“Yeah, this is pretty sad...sad stuff.”
“Yes, I think those are very interesting things. It’s only weird if you think too much about it.”
Takahiro sighed to himself as he watched everyone enjoying himself. In theory, he thought it would be a good way to socialize. However, being here made him feel more lonely then before. The drink on his table snapped him out of his reverie. Takahiro glanced at it confused. He looked quickly at the person next to him. “Sorry to ask but by any chance did you get a drink without ordering it?”
“Not like anyone expects me to cry at this thing, but I would like it to be known that my allergies are horrible this time of year. So don’t talk about it.”
“this is so grim.” a deep frown formed on libby’s face as she approached the memorial. stating the obvious helped her deal with emotions she would rather not talk about at all. she expected people to have gotten over things enough to somewhat make the event a bit more cheerful. then again, she herself hadn’t gotten over it yet. “we should be celebrating their lives, not emphasizing their deaths, and all that.”
life was dull. she had a wonderful family, a great home to live in, and no serious complaints. but the girl was somewhat of a recluse compared to her sociable father. mia had no real friends she could talk about girl things with, or that she could rely on. which was why she knew the shadow that suddenly loomed above her as she rested across the lawn outside the cathedral couldn’t have been someone she knew. “you,” she spoke gruffly. she sat up to squint at whomever it was that cut off her mild sun bathing. “what do you want?”
“i was almost starting to miss this place. i hear that man killed his wife. quite the scandal to come back to.”
