There really are no words to truly express the sadness we are feeling. "Defeated" doesn't seem to sum it up. He survived the night, was kept comfortable and safe but the insurmountable damage that his frail body had endured ultimately took over. We are grateful for his doctors that worked endlessly to give him the best possible chance, to let him know he did matter and that he wouldn't be alone anymore. We are thankful for his rescuer Henry, that didn't give up looking for him and comforted him. Thank you @ivep_me for praying over him yesterday and letting him know he wasn't alone. Thank you @sandandtan for being his voice and connecting us with Lazarus. We thank you, Lazarus' supporters, for your compassion and kindness. His passing has left a hole in our hearts. We know that we all did all that was possible for him and that he will not have died in vain. Lazarus, YOU ARE LOVED AND WILL LIVE IN EACH LIFE WE ARE ABLE TO SAVE 🙏🏻The crisis, epidemic, travesty or however you would call it, has to end somehow! These animals are dying horrific deaths. Please write the elected officials in Puerto Rico to make a change. We are saddened to realize this won't be the last heartache we will have to face.
