GUARANÁ BUDDIES!

I FINALLY DID THE THING! And with a twist... And I don't care if I'm slow to the meme boom >:)

TLDR: Last week's friday I went out downtown with my family, and as we went to an Asian Mall [or as we refer to them colloquially as "Mall Chinos", greetings from Chile y'all!] I spotted a pile of Energy Drinks, which apparently are not very good in terms of flavor according to my big sis. Which happens to feature various characters from DBZ. And if you know the Memes surrounding Hornet from HK: Silksong, especially in the Hispanic or Latin American spheres… You might recognize a certain word... And look who they picked for that flavour to get plastered in a can of this energy drink~

Now, I know the brand which had this DBZ Collab for their drink isn't the same brand that's featured in the memes with Hornet...

BUT SCREW IT! I needed to go with THE…

GUARANÁ!

And what's even more fun is that I later learned from a mate of mine that this brand of drink is actually PRETTY GOOD! I kinda wanna give it a taste one day... If I can find one that is :/ But yeah, Hornet chose a PEAK DRINK.

Hey what do you think of Leaf? I think she's the worst and a shit sister, she acted like Lazuli she was in the wrong for hating their dad! Who does that? The fact she peaked in Chapter 1 shows how much she sucks.

Leaf is an...interesting case.

I think I can understand what the intention was with her character. She's meant to be the gentle, nice character that is supportive, kind, and doesn't hold grudges. But, due to the surrounding factors, her character ended up backfiring, and EV-Zero unintentionally made her look nearly dismissive and certainly negligent over what's happening around her.

So, when it came to the topic of their father. Leaf doesn't hate him while Lazuli does, and Leaf is insistent on giving him another chance, maybe to explain things. I think this debate between the two sisters could've been expanded more, and there could've been some sort of neutral ground. Of course, Lazuli does not have to forgive the same way Leaf is not obligated to not forgive.

But she provides pretty shallow support and advice.

One of the biggest cases is Speed and Lazuli.

When Lazuli reasonably questions if Speed would ever like her back because of her common behavior of beating him up, Leaf simply says, "Don't worry about it..." (I believe in Chapter 3)

Even when I read that years ago, I was pretty confused because Lazuli had a generally reasonable conclusion regarding what Speed would be feeling toward her. Yet, to Leaf, Lazuli should just not consider that, and Speed will totally, realistically not only forgive her but also love her back.

Not to mention, the actual Speed abuse that she bears witness to on several occasions. She pretty much does the bare minimum and partially calls it out on Lazuli that, no, she did not have to beat the crap out of him and/or give Speed a bloody nose for whatever reason Lazuli has(which is not much of an actual good reason unless being called a "nasty girl" like once or twice in Chapter 1 is reason enough to punch someone in the face...). Other than that, Leaf basically shrugs it off as "Lazuli being Lazuli," which is apparently shared with everyone else in the squad.

However, there is potential. If anything, it could've been used as a reasonable flaw for her character. Leaf could've been a character where she's gentle and kind yet doesn't lift a finger to physically stop anything or be direct. She holds back and allows conflicts to escalate. To add to this, due to having only her sister to rely on for the majority of her life, when it comes to Lazuli, Leaf struggles to actually call her out or say that her sister is wrong in something. She, at most, would say that Lazuli took it too far, but other than that, Leaf holds back, and that allows Lazuli to escalate conflicts repeatedly.

It'd be a pretty good visualization and, unfortunately, a realistic phenomenon where just because a person isn't the one hurting someone directly, they're not fully absolved of guilt because that person allowed their friend/sibling/etc to hurt that person(especially over and over again) and they weren't making an effort to put a stop to it.

It's kind of like having an older sibling that you trust and have a good relationship with start to bully another kid. Now, you're in this dilemma of pushing through your personal perception of your sibling and calling them out or letting it continue.

Via this flaw, Leaf would go through conflict with Flare(who hopefully wouldn't like what Leaf's sister does to his older brother), Speed (the general victim), and Lazuli (the trusted sister that Leaf relies on).

But that's just me and how I think Leaf's character would've worked.

can I have a Lapis Lazuli!yuu x twst ? 0 . 0 Lapis from steven universe . It’d be interesting to see how they react after Lapis!yuu (begrudgingly) giving like a half assed explanation about the whole gem war, what gems are, and how she was trapped in a mirror for years and they’d still have that surprised pikachu face .

lazuliyuu would stop Grim from putting the whole ceremony on fire by using water chains to stop him and taking care of the rest of the fire by extinguish it

A lot of people were shocked that you are not a human but a gem alien thing and the dark mirror confirmed it and later a lot of them ask a few questions

lazuliyuu being in ramshackle didn't really get bothered it was almost like the farm and the ghost they became friends and maybe a little bit excited to see actual ghost

Ace and deuce became friends with lazuliyuu after they save them from the monster in the dwarf cave which is they were very grateful

During book 1 when Trey made tarts for ace and Deuce and grim and cater but lazuliyuu didn't eat because gems don't really need to consume food to survive But still eat it not to hurt trey feelings

Foremost of the overblots lazuliyuu manage to to use water chains to keep them down from moving and make shields to protect the students

During book 3 when jade and Floyd You tried to stop them from going to the museum But they were underwater so it was pretty easy for lazuliyuu so they didn't have a chance of stopping them

lazuliyuu eating lunch or hangs out with the first years or sometimes do a little bit of training or sometimes makes little water cones of themselves to fight

Sword practice with sebek and the rest of the first years sebek managed to take you off guard and accidentally stabbing them Then poofed jack and epel, Ortho, Sebek started panicking and sebek thinking he just murdered you

Ace and deuce and grim we're calm during this lazuliyuu told them they couldn't really die it would only be there projection body so at longest their gem wasn't broken or damage they'll be fine it takes a while to form their body back

During book 5 during the VDC dance trials lazuliyuu would be actually pretty good at their dancing And they're singing voice Even vil would compliment

lazuliyuu didn't join the dance group because they didn't really like being centered of stage that much but still cheered for the rest of them

They were all curious about fusion dance while dancing with a gem You can turn into a whole new different person Most of them were curious if they can do it with them and a lot of them wanted to try

When anybody was trying to look for lazuliyuu and couldn't find find them anywhere The one place they would check would be on the roof like most of the time They might be there chilling

Idia and lazuliyuu would be kind of good friends For some reason lazuliyuu looks at idia without his awkwardness they do remind them of somebody they know

For their birthdays lazuliyuu would make ice glaciers of them And make sure they get every detail which is a lot of them were impressed about their work

Rook Will stalk you because he was fascinated about gems and how they function lazuliyuu would have a little bit of a feeling that they're being watched which most of the time they manage to catch rook

Often when Ace and deuce relate they would ask lazuliyuu to fly them over to their classes which they didn't mind most of the time

I'm assuming Lapis is based off Queen Aleena from Sonic Underground, design wise. But what about Lazuli? Is she based off any particular Sonic parent variant like Bernadette from Archie or Brenda from the manga?

Lazuli is sort of a combination of Jules and Bernadette from Archie Comics! She's hotheaded and brave, with a stubborn streak a mile wide.
