[Rundown] Long Beach Comic Expo 2016
Disney cosplay meet up - so many awesome people!! Cool meeting you all!!
The Video Games - aka cosplay stunt show. I love watching mock combat and stage fighting. These guys are really awesome at what they do. This is the real cosplay contest - to the death!
Meeting some really awesome artists like Joe Stanton and Chris Claremont.
Lots of cute creative trinkets in the Artist Alley. Took some earrings home. I love following more Artist Alley peeps!
Chatting it up with some chill cosplayers from Bob’s Burgers, Disney, Star Wars, etc.
Oh hi Long Beach Terrace Theatre for photos
Getting more motivation to cosplay Star Wars...it’s that fabric though
I really like that this con is chill enough to hang out with friends and to catch up with people I don’t see often.
Lady Killer cosplays were super comfortable
Made the awesome choice of bringing TJ’s salad to the con. Yay for saving money.
Not con related, but watching Hail Caesar afterwards in period clothing was the bee’s knees. (”Hey! This room is full of Jared’s!”)
The pinups who are also cosplayers are kinda stuck up? At least that’s the impression I got. Come on guys, pinups are far more chill than this! (takes one to know one)
Eh...I prefer the actual convention center for main events and panels.
Some panel rooms were too small.
Noticing the the comic con cosplay and anime cosplay communities are like two different worlds.
Eh...awkwardness with some comic group that did not start talking to me until my significant other stepped out for a photo starting to talk about how I needed a safe space. What? I’m hoping that’s not your intention. The only safe space I need for creativity is quietness and easy access to tea.
Eh...the LBGT cosplay panel had some good intentions, but it seemed more focused on individual fame than banding together as a community.
Oh snap, broke my heel. My bad!
When I say “Club” you say “Cosplay!” “Club! “Anxiety...” “Club!” “Anxiety...”
Convincing Deb to go as Annie and @daoutlaw to go as Sandy.
Recording the podcast tonight. Overall, I had a good time. I like the smaller, more laid back events that aren’t as overwhelming.
