Before, the storm was nothing more than a gathering of clouds; rippling across the sky like waves in an ocean. The thunder had been a roar in his ears. The lightning-a bright beacon of light. But now... Now the wind was howling like a song against Ezra’s ears. His feet crunch over splintered twigs, pebbles, and anything that wasn’t firmly rooted to the ground.
His paws hit the cold ground as his body changed from the white wolf into that of a man. His breath trailed off in clouds of mist that spread out around him before disappearing into nothingness.
A handsome young man with short black hair, eyes of melted chocolate staring back at the sound of a snapping twig towards Alec...
Droplets of rain cling to every strand of Ezra’s hair while drips collect on his eyelashes before trickling down his cheeks in strings toward peach skin, lips parted just enough to allow small gasps of air into his lungs.
He stood tall and proud, but the moment he saw Alec-he felt exposed-vulnerable-as if everything he was running from would catch up with him and swallow him whole. There wasn’t a sound in the world except for the howling wind and rain falling on Ezra’s shoulders. A faint lightning bolt illuminated Alec’s stern features.
“Alec... this isn’t what you think. It’s hm... hmm... I can explain!” Ezra’s hands shot down to cover his nakedness. He turned his gaze away from Alec and bit into the soft skin of his bottom lip, biting down hard enough that tiny drops of blood engorged between each tooth.
