the arrow that mari sent whizzing past the stranger held just a fraction of her power that she had once possessed in celestia . she exhaled as it pierced a hillichurl behind him . perhaps he had it all under control , but she wasn't about to take a chance when her purpose was to defend - or that's what she had assumed .
" you mustn't let your guard down around here , it seems . " ( to apollo yipeee )

Apollo felt the arrow whiz past his head, strands of his hair shifting from the velocity and breeze behind it. He really should've been more startled, had he not seen the hillichurl behind him. Apollo's eye, the one with a distinct crimson tone, had gone glassy just seconds before which was indicative of his sight shifting to a view that was akin to a more out of body experience.
Blinking a few times as it returned, Apollo's shoulders straightened. "I don't think I'll have to worry that much if your reaction times are as fast as that, Mari." He said, tone relaxed as his hands came to rest behind his back. "Really, though, that may have been a little overkill for something as meager as that." Apollo added with a small chuckle.
