The Diamond's eyes narrowed for a moment, figure straightening as though physically asserting her dominance over the lesser being in front of her. It would do the THING well to learn its place and she was more than willing to teach it if its rudeness persisted.

the question physically hurts the boss monster. her expression is pained, but she knows asriel is serious, and he needs to hear an answer.she knew that he was in pain too. 

“asriel---”

of course. of course she loves him.  he may be different now, in a different form, but

he’s still her son. 

“i do. you have no idea--when we lost you. it was too much--”

her voice cracks and toriel couldn’t finish her sentence. she pulls him in a hug. in this form of his he was taller but somehow it isn’t awkward. 

“i do. please know that i do. i love you so much, asriel.”

   the underground has gone empty. flowers beneath their feet are fragile and bend when they step among them. a prominent sensation of their body tangled in roots and surrounded by dirt in the darkness overwhelms them at times, but if they open their eyes they know they’re alive. to some extent, at least. the only light source comes from above, where they fell down OH so many years ago. chara bends their neck to look up. hard to believe that this is the bottom of the abyss. eerie and dust fills the air visibly. it seems this room as been left alone since the last ever child fell.  

   tranquility echoes through the room, eyes fall upon the reason they are here. HIM. asriel. sentimentality for their brother fills them and chara is at peace to be here with him. it’s good to know they made the right choice a long time ago. together.

     One would expect the woman to say more...but that was the only thing to escape from her smiling lips. The basket was happily handed over, glad to see that there were more emotions other than distant and cold installed into him. 

     “Oh, well, if you must know,” Breaking silence with the shutting of blue eyes. “I have some words and I stand by them well: True loneliness is something that not a single soul should feel in their lifetime. Putting one’s self away from anything they may see fit is fine, as long as it never turns into staggering desolation and isolation.” Eyes opened back up to scan the room. “And call it a gut feeling, but I think there is too much of both in this one room, dear. If I may try anything to fix it, some decent company and adequate snacks sound just like the perfect thing to ward such unwanted things away, no?”

     Voice had somehow stayed level, and actually cheery, somehow. Hands laid folded down her front...before they gestured to the basket of cinnamon rolls.

     “Now please, please! Dig in before they get cold! I’ll gladly make more if you end up liking them.”

I just really love this Sans, their characterization is so good and don’t even get me started on their writing. Honestly I’ve been fangirling over their stuff since they first followed me because I’m a huge dweeb who is too shy to speak to people ever???? Just, seriously, if you’re not already following them you’re missing out. Also, even though we’ve not talked the mun seems like an absolute sweetheart tbh. 10000/10 would follow again.

Honestly this lovely Asriel is one of the reasons I even brought Sans back, I’d been wanting to write with them for ages but had no idea how to do so, so I kept wanting to pick up Sans again just to do so. Plus seeing their threads with tons of other lovely Undertale peeps just made the pull even stronger, they write so well and deserve all the followers honestly. They’ve been nothing but sweet any time I’ve interacted with them, so please go give them love for me. Thank.
