Dude the Commodus fic sounds so cool already!! And I barely ever see people upload for him so I'm extra hyped! I'm excited to see you write for him cus I think you write Geta and Caracalla so well!! :) also seeing a fic that's basically my job but funny lil character I like is alsl there is so fun!

if there’s one thing im gonna do it’s write a pathetic man and commodus fits that damn bill!!!! im kind of so genuinely in love with how soggy he is, and i DO think i could fix him. if only a little bit. i’m rewatching the first gladiator now to try and get his speech patterns down for chapter one. wish me luck!!

also!! i love imagining my favs coming into my work while im on a shift. it genuinely gets me through the job sometimes but also im insane. and i work at dollar general, i dont think commodus would ever set foot in one unless it was entirely against his will. and then hed be entirely unpleasant and too busy sulking to really appreciate my stellar customer service.

okay sooooo i’m thinking, now that im roughly halfway done with the first arc of dnbts… its safe to start working on a second fic. just to have a palate cleanser every so often so i dont burn myself out of dnbts!!!

anyway, i’m gonna start on the first chapter of a fic called ‘laborans durum aut vix laborans’ (if you can guess what that means in latin ill give you five million dollars) that’s basically a modern au romcom fic about commodus getting WAYYYYY too attached to a waiter at chilis.

premise for chapter one that i’m working with is that yn is a trans guy who moved from a small southern town and near poverty to california after he got a scholarship to an out of state college. he works back of house at this stupid chain restaurant doing prep and/or washing dishes, but, one fateful day, one of the wait staff calls out and he’s stuck filling in. cue commodus, local annoying rich frat boy, coming in after a HORRIBLE ass day, that waiter yn accidentally makes better with their fumbling customer service skills. and now commodus wont stop coming in and requesting him as his waiter.

Feel free not to respond, but I just wanted to say that ur Commodus fic had me go into PTSD as a hostess/server. Server life is... interesting for someone who's on the spectrum. Literally had an old man laugh at me and called me the "most awkward person he's ever met" when handing him his food.

I'm feeling for the y/n in this fic right now. If you ever need some inspiration for your awkward guest encounters scenes I'm here lol

AAAAAA THANK YOU!!! im so glad i write commodus well, its hard to balance the fact that hes very attractive with his absolutely negative rizz. hes so embarrassing, him chugging his drink yhrough the straw will always be my fav part. as someone with sensitive teeth me and commodus are fellow straw chuggers but it looks soooo embarrassing 😭

dude i might take u up on ur offer cause i actually havent worked as a server before! ive worked food service like chick fil a and panera, but not as an actual server. at my current job ive had people get mad at me for the CRAZIEST shit and i never realize theyre Actually Mad At Me until the last second. my god.

oh i absolutely do plan on revisiting ldavl!!! the concept is so funny to me and id be a fool to squander it. commodus is such a pathetic little whelp of a man to me i need to put him in truly dastardly situations. i never wrote down my plans like a FUCKING IDIOT but i do remember having one where yn takes commodus out to fish and theyre having the time of their life while he is burning in the sun and being grossed out by the bait and he shows up in a fucking polo and shorts or some shit. ohhhh my god. i need to get back in therreeee
