Lana mentioned that the new album’s gonna experiment with electric guitars and that it has surf elements. Ultraviolence 2.0 is coming, I’m shakin’
Lana Del Rey announced her new upcoming album 'Norman Fucking Rockwell,' and premiered a new song. She’s also getting her pilots license.
Lana Del Rey shared "Venice Bitch," the second song from her upcoming album, which she revealed will be titled, Norman Fucking Rockwell.
During a conversation with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, Lana said that the album's title drew inspiration from her studio sessions with producer Jack Antonoff. "Working with Jack [Antonoff], I was in a little bit of a lighter mood because he was so funny," Lana said. "So the title track is called "'Norman Fucking Rockwell'" and it's kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he like won't shut up talking about it."
"Venice Bitch" is almost 10 minutes long and Lowe described it as a "two-sided song." Del Rey shared the experience of playing it for her managers: "I played it for my managers and I was like, yeah I think this is the single I want to put out. And they were like it's 10 minutes long. Are you kidding me? It's called “Venice Bitch”. Like why do you do this to us? Can you make a three minute normal pop song? I was like well, end of summer, some people just wanna drive around for 10 minutes get lost in some electric guitar. "
Elsewhere in the interview, the Lust For Life singer shared that she has been spending time trying to get her pilot license, and sailing among other things.
People say Lana sings the same old songs, like WTF! Have you not been paying attention? Lana is a true musician whose music grows and melodies change. BTD/Paradise was all about sadness and clinging on to bad relationships (btd, blue jeans, ride), Ultraviolence was all about these relationships failing and Lana struggling to let go eventhough she's in love (shades of cool, west coast, ultraviolence etc), Honeymoon was her kicking these guys and realizing that she is strong and should be loved (high by the beach etc), LFL was all about love and how happy lana now is in her life (love, lust for life etc) and LDR6 is already her now realizing her strengths and mistakes and how people used her in the past. Lana has been telling a story with every album and it's actually beautiful. So many people want others to fix them and cling to those people but we have to move on. Y'all can keep hating but I'm thankful for the Goddess of the Universe Lizzy Grant commonly worshipped as Lana Del Rey for helping so many lost souls, including myself, learn to be happy and love oursleves.
the aesthetic of mariners apartment complex is like the lovechild of lust for life and ultraviolence and im here for it
"And who I am is a big-time believer, that people can change, but you don't have to leave her."
