Lapis stood in front of the bed, arms crossed over her chest. She had a lot on her mind and she needed to vent or she might just explode from bottling up what she wanted to say.
"So what now?"
No reply from the figure resting on the bed. Dark hair, bright eyes, and a stare that seemed like it was going right through her very soul.
"Are you expecting that I'll just jump into your arms again and let you toy with me until you eventually get bored and leave?" She was tired. It had been a long day at Sound Waves. Her hands were fists at her side, refusing to uncurl even though her hands were sore from trying to play her beloved instruments all day but with no luck. She could just barely play a piece. Barely.
A soft hum.
"I'm sure you'd love that wouldn't you? You just love it when people adore you..."
A low purr.
"What do you think, Honey?" She laid down on the bed, the mattress creaking as she went down, sheets rustling.
"Meow." The cat replied. Honey. That was her name. That was her pet name. Lapis resented the fact that the name was meant for her yet she gave it to this cat. The cat now nestled against her chest as she lay there, petting it as it purred and meowed on occasion.
She missed the real one. She missed how her hands would cup her face when she came for a kiss or how they pinned her hands against the wall or down on the bed.
That long black hair that she used to run her hands through. Her soft skin and velvet lips that she'd bite when the other got a little... enthusiastic and made her gasp.
The cat was not like her in some ways. She was never meant to be. Foxes aren't cats. Sure, cats could be a pain but Lapis learned the hard way that foxes were even worse.
Foxes deceive.
And she had the misfortune of encountering the worst kind.
It was a black cat with eyes shining that bore into her like the one she was trying so desperately to replace in her mind. Those eyes that looked down at her as she lay in bed at night, panting and begging for her to just take her away for the night. The woman was glad to oblige with a smirk. It was a pathetic attempt but she gave the cat the love that she gave to the woman, just so she could forget.
It wasn’t hard to forget the raunchy texts she’d get while working.
The missed calls from a worried friend were never returned and her faux father’s threats were constantly put down. She didn’t need to cause any trouble for her. It was enough. Lapis knew she wouldn’t apologize; her pride to be wounded if she did anyway.
The cat acted just slightly different from the woman and this didn’t surprise Lapis quite as much as she thought it would. The cat was a darling one, giving her attention, keeping her busy, cuddling up to her in bed even. It bothered her sometimes while she was trying to do things, such was the woman she was to replace.
The cat’s name?
Honey, the name Ahri first called her.
She hated herself for thinking that Ahri even liked her because she made it so clear that she was just fooling around with Lapis and that hurt even more. It was her heart breaking and she tried not to listen but it echoed in her head, a voice.
“Don’t you trust me?”
She trusted her.
Now she was in bed, with Honey, tail flicking back and forth against the sheets, cloth rustling softly as she watched the cat start to doze off. Did it hurt?
> Send a word for an occasion where my muse has felt: Irrational (oh boy u in for it now)
It was stupid. She wasn’t hers, she knew that. Why was she so angry anyway? She wasn’t being betrayed. God, she wasn’t thinking straight. She spent so long looking at the texts she refused to open and the multiple missed calls that she refused to return.
Was it irrational to not answer her calls? Probably.
Was she being childish? Also a possibility.
She wanted to cry and that’s what she did. She always did.
Send me a “♫” and a ship name and I will put my iPod on shuffle and write a drabble on them based on that song.

“Ahri, where are you taking me?”
It was night. The street lamps were dim and the winds were picking up, chilling the atmosphere.
“Let’s have some real fun.”
“I don’t like the sound of that.” Lapis didn’t like the low purr that accompanied Ahri’s voice sometimes. Sometimes, it meant a lot of trouble. That meant that she’d have to bail them both out of trouble if it came to that. The whole trickster fox-lady business got her head all mixed-up a lot. It was such a hassle to care for Ahri sometimes but Lapis didn’t mind it.
“Oh? But why not? We can do something far more fun than just sit around~”
“I guess…”
♡ ♡ ♡
“Ahri, can we go yet?”
“One more shot then we can go~” Down the shot went. It was terribly late. Lapis had her store to worry about in the morning as well as Ahri’s inevitable hangover from all those drinks. Sure, she could handle a drink but if you’re on the brink of alcohol poisoning, it’s a different story.
“You said that about the last five shots!”
“Those were just starters. This is where the real drinking starts.”
“I’m deleting my contact on your phone and I won’t answer your calls if you manage to find my number again. Another thing is that you don’t get kisses for a month. You won’t be finding me in your bed for a while too.”
“…what?”
“You heard me.”
“I heard you, yes, but what makes you think I’ll let you get a hold of my phone.”
“Well, honey, I already have it–if you pick that shot glass up, I’m doing it.”
Despite the threat, the glass left the wooden surface.

“Well then. Come on, let’s go. Now.”
A sigh from the fox and a little wobble when she got up.
Lapis didn’t expect flowers, especially not from Hinta.
“You got me flowers…?” she said putting her guitar down and took the bouquet into her hands. She was a little flustered at it too. She wasn’t expecting anyone over today and she anticipated getting a gift even less.
“Thank you.”
“It’s nothing…They’re forget-me-nots.” HInata said, stepping back a little and clasping her hands in front of her. “I hope I’m not disturbing your guitar practice.”
“No, no, I’m fine! Here, sit down. I’ll play you something for the flowers.” she said, setting the flowers aside and picking her guitar up again.

“Hey do you wanna pick a song first or should I?”
“Go ahead.” he said and she went along with it. He was still looking at the song selection after all and she already had something picked out. She made her choice and picked the remote up and clicked in her selection while Dipper wasn’t looking.

“So, how did this happen?”
She was thinking out loud. All she knew was that there was a party and she blacked out with a bunch of people in her home. Some hadn’t woken up yet and were sprawled all over the place, still dozing off. She remembered getting out of bed and heading into the bathroom, gently stepping over someone laid out on the floor. What, or rather who she saw in the mirror was a complete stranger. Her hair was cropped down to a short cut, her face had changed and her body was beyond recognizable. In other words, she had become a man.
She was not going to have a fun time explaining this to anyone so she checked on everyone in the house, starting upstairs then continuing downstairs. When she went down, one of her guests was awake and what they looked like shocked her. She remembered inviting Alibaba over but this was not how he looked the night before. He had clearly changed as much as she had and this was going to be a tricky situation to try to get out of.
“Do you know how we can fix this?”
“Not a clue.” she sighed, holding her head in her hands.
