For the uninitiated, “Le Chalet” ( the translation would be "The Cottage") was a huge Quebec TV show that played on Vrak tv ( a tv channel with a teen audience) , and this song is a core memory for anyone who grew up with it. Hearing it play as Shane and Ilya drive to the cottage was the most niche, hilarious, and perfect deep-cut reference. My Quebecois heart exploded.

I just learned that the song Le Chalet that plays at the beginning of episode 6 literally translates to The Cottage and Quebecers apparently got a kick out of it when it started playing. How many of these am I yet to discover?

Being bilingual is not even clocking before my 4th watch of Heated Rivalry 1x06 that the song that plays in the beginning of the car ride is French.

But it's not only French.

L'anarchie des jours heureux is the theme song of a Québec TV show named Le chalet (lit: the cottage/the cabin) taking place in Lanaudière at a cottage where friends meet each summer.

That show aired between 2015-2019 and was aimed towards adolescents. The series was nominated for multiple Gémeaux awards in Canada. The network where it aired was the main network for many millennial and older Gen Z teenagers to catch onto our teen tv dramas, Canadian made or imported from the USA. That TV channel has since been closed by Bell Media (who owns Crave).

Voilà, that was a very nostalgic moment as a Québécoise.

It still took me 3 rewatch to catch it because I was so giddy for Hollanov to finally have their happy moment (or it was the familiarity of the song) 😅😅😅
