Hey you! es una respuesta artística al terremoto ocurrido en Haití el 12 de enero de 2010. Los creadores de este proyecto son 7 jóvenes artistas que forman el colectivo de arte Le Set, basado en Nueva York. Tras el sismo, el grupo pasó una semana inspiradora en Haití, trabajando como voluntarios en la organización HealingHaiti.org. Durante su estadía, repartieron agua, comida y enseñaron sobre arte a huérfanos, mientras documentaban todo su viaje.

"Hey you!" es lo que los niños haitianos gritaban mientras el grupo recorría Port au Prince, que se encontraba en horribles condiciones tras el terremoto. En el lenguaje criollo, la frase fue tomada del inglés con un significado erróneo. "Hey you!", originalmente en inglés es "Hey tú!", fue adoptado por el pueblo haitiano como "Dame!". Dame agua. Dame comida. Dame ayuda. Dame esperanza. 

El video fue realizado por el director Eugene Fuller, miembro de Le Set, para promocionar el proyecto y la organización HealingHaiti.org. Todos los trabajos creados por el colectivo serán presentados en una exposición y un libro.

Hey you! it's an artistic answer to the earthquake occurred in Haiti january 12th 2010. The creators of this project are 7 young artists who form the art collective Le Set, based in New York. After the seism, the group spent an inspiriting week in Haiti, working as volunteers in HealingHaiti.org. During their stay, they delivered food, water and taught art to orphans, while documenting all their trip.

"Hey you!" is what Haitian kids yelled while the group traveled through Port au Prince which found itself in horrible conditions after the earthquake. In the Creole language, the phrase was taken from English with a wrong sense. "Hey you!" was adopted by the Haitian people as "Give me!". Give me water. Give me food. Give me help. Give me hope.

The film was directed by director Eugene Fuller, member of Le Set, to promote the project and HealingHaiti.org. All the works created by the collective will be part of an exhibition and a book.

PDN Video Pick: Hey You! A Project for Haiti

After the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti, seven young artists, including photographers Kareem Black, Alessandro Simmonetti and Wyatt Gallery, formed an art collective they called Le Set (Creole for “seven”) and volunteered with healinghaiti.org. They have continued to use their work to raise money for the healinghaiti.org and to inspire others to help. They call their initiative “Hey You: A Project for Haiti” because “hey you” is what they heard from children wherever they went in Haiti.
