Le Soleil
Kurt E. Koch - The Devil's Alphabet - Kregel - 1972
🌞This image is from an alchemical manuscript called the Splendor Solis (Latin for “The Splendor of the Sun”).
It was created in the 16th century (around the 1500s), and like many illuminated manuscripts of that time, the exact artist is unknown. These works were typically made by skilled manuscript painters and illustrators 🌞
[ID: a series of photographs of the sunrise over a wintry residential street. The colors are extremely deep and vibrant in pinks and purples and blues, shading lighter over the series as the aky brightens.]
The happy child under the sun, because I can't interact with this man without layers of various symbolism. Young Vale as the Sun, the beginning of transformation into a full-scale solar deity. What can I say - we have a King in Yellow at home.
