He'd received an invitation to Goldenrod, though the place that was listed on the text message had been a bit...sketchy. And now, placed in the center of the mall's food court, he couldn't help but turn to look worriedly around at the crowds, the brightly lit logos, and the mounds of shopping bags taped to everyone's hands. He knew what was coming -- but he couldn't go back now.

Sighing, he leaned back in his small cheaply-crafted cafe chair, waited for his pink-haired friend to arrive any second now. He flipped his phone shut and slid it back into his back pants pocket, folding his arms onto his lap.

"Simply wonderful," he mumbled to himself.
