autumn activity - leaf rubbings!
Collect fresh leaves with interesting shapes and textures. You'll also need a sheet of paper (printer paper works well) and crayons. Peeling the paper off the crayon will make it easier to rub.
Place the leaf on a flat, hard surface, with the textured side (the side with the veins) facing up
Carefully lay a sheet of plain white paper (or other paper you've chosen) directly on top of the leaf
Remove the paper wrapper from the crayon
Hold the crayon on its side and rub it firmly and evenly over the paper, covering the area where the leaf is
As you rub, the leaf's veins and outline will be transferred to the paper, creating a leaf rubbing!! — 🍁
