Summary:

"You got an internship offer from Mirko?"

And, well. It's kind of a no-brainer to decide where he'll be going for his internship after that, staring wide-eyed and vaguely hysterical at his list that is definitely much, much longer than the one he had after last year's Sports Festival, because even though he's been interning under Endeavour for months now, even though he's enjoyed training and growing alongside Shouto and Kacchan, this is the perfect opportunity to broaden his horizons.

"Are you going to take it?" He's asked. Izuku meets Shouto's eyes with a wobbly smile.

"Yeah," he swallows roughly, "definitely. And you're staying with-?" Shouto gives a short nod. Izuku grins weakly. "Maybe we can call each other when we're free. Make it more tolerable."

"I'll hold you to that."

OR: a series of phone calls and late-night rendezvous between internships.

Summary:

He’d been six years old the first time he saw a mother walking home with her child, hand-in-hand and radiating a kind of unfamiliar contentment that he couldn’t name. He'd also been six years old when he learned that touch was a commodity that the world beyond those walls enjoyed far more freely than the stiff-backed sorcerers flickering in and out of the training rooms.

He's sixteen years old when he leaves behind the remnants of his clan to join Jujutsu Tech. It's arguably the best decision he’s ever made; trading a compound full of nothing but emptiness in for a vacant campus that’s full of life in every chaotic, unkempt way he’s never lived before.

Satoru is also sixteen years old when the lonely title of 'The Strongest', for the first time in his life, is no longer solely his own.

For the longest time, the only affectionate contact warming Giorno’s life came in the form of his own Stand’s golden touch, gentle and reassuring on the darker, lonelier nights; the same nights where the shadows in his room would curl, grasp, reach for him daintily.

That has changed. He’d always distantly known that he’d need to gain allies to achieve his goal. He never expected he’d gain friends from it. Not people tentatively rushing him into their circle to avoid punishment for attacking him, and definitely not people looking to use his abilities for their own gain, but a handful of precious, cherished people Giorno will gladly shatter reality for time and time over.

or, an alternative reality where everyone lives, and the realisation that a family isn’t always born from blood.
