my massive jumble of faiz thoughts some more coherent than others

kiba yuji is sooo interesting as a character he is such an amazing foil to kusaka. he is a selfish and manipulative person, but much more kinder and with a more acceptable social masking. he is a shithead, just like the reat of the cast. he projects his own ideals. he carries faiz’s misogyny with him in his house with how he treats yuka and kaido. its so disappointing how there is no deeper connection furthered between the trio. its maddening that they all pretend and while that is the point its still wrong to see. the performance of heteronormative household there, its cruel and weird esp when kiba cares for these two but doesnt try to fix or help them. the horse is so fucking complicated and beautiful and fascinating. a fascinating man i have so many complaints and he does it well he is genuine. its so upsetting that he is genuine. he is not malicious a lot of the time like kusaka but he is painfully ignorant of how he influences and impacts others. anyway the parallels of kusaka and kiba are real and true

the concept of being human and ‘being’ ‘human.’ learning how to be human and letting yourself be human. allowing urself to be human. surviving vs living.

i think faiz stuck so hard to me bc a lot of the characters struggle with identifying as a human. something happened that made them question if they r allowed to consider themselves human anymore. if you are not, what are you?

its interesting esp knowing blade comes after it. hajime is super cool but he Wants to be human, is human. characters around him affirm his desire, he wants it so bad.

so many characters in faiz arent human, unknowingly or not. and they must continue regardless and wake up and eat and choose to keep being human. they dont want to be human but they want to live. they want to die and want to be human. they want to die and not be human.

its such a fascinating show esp as someone who deals with depersonalization its like yeah. what does it mean. to die and be human-like again. idk its something so weird to me i love faiz.

truthfully i would want kiba to live to face the consequences of his actions and shoulder that guilt. to know his failures personally again.

i also think faiz has something to say about romance and the social pressure of relationships. i lost my train of thought

i crunched thru kamen rider blade in two weeks tbh so this is definitely word soup isv but one of my fav things about it is how names decree power and utility. like ofc using given/family name shows familiarity but its so very character specific

kenzaki to never have anyone use his given name throughout the show (to my memory pleaaase correct me i would love to be wrong) shows his comfortability with being a hero, something so out of reach and transient, and with keeping people even his loved ones away from him emotionally. i think its also interesting and notable that he doesnt have anyone using his given name at all to the end bc i like the implications that he sets that boundary himself . no attachments makes leaving easier bc he never expects a home to stay and it reminds him from what and of where he comes from

hajime ofc is hajime before being aikawa. genuinely could talk about him and autism and disability forever that is another topic but hajime is called so many things throughout blade. but when ppl call him, its usually hajime, where we lose the respect or affection expected socially that grants someone to use the given name, or aikawa (tachibana and kotaro in my head are notable) to create that distance. the only thing that belongs to him truly is the name hajime and he is that before anything else

also riders who started being riders due to job : family names and riders who fight for identity : given names

kicks a rock the transgenderisms of ryuki and how shinji has reduced agency like yui and other women due to the influence of more dominant , controlling, and or uncommunicative men. or men refusing to listen or shutting down different ways to navigate the war and the mirror world or just flat out not respecting their boundaries. i wish we saw more shinji and yui and eri hanging out

im talking about ryuki, tulpas, and the selfishness of man in a haggard way

theres canon spoilers and episode final spoilers under the cut

ok so i havent read the novel what ive heard sounds like it would piss me off so bad ngl so all of this is without that.

yui’s powers of the mirror world and the conception of the monsters stemmed from the innate desires of her and shiro. tulpas in a very broad sense are thoughts made physical and given form. they are literal tulpas from paper into mirror, and yui is herself a weird kind of tulpa, being made alive again by her mirror self because her kid brother in grief wanted it. actually its so sad bc instead of growing into and through the grief he became what he is in the show. idk ive been thinking about this a lot bc of who’s lila (indi video game), the king in yellow (aris torture device short story anthology).

i think its fucked up how shiro took creatures made to protect younger versions of him and yui from their parents and used them as tools of war to make people kill each other to get her life back. like they are made when they are kids bc they were in an abusive neglectful household. genuinely i think the mirror monsters would not attack if mirror yui wasnt pulled out of the mirror world and into the real yui’s body. THEN they are used by shiro’s technology and contracted. i want to know so much more about yui and shiro tbh i love the mirror world so much

ok anyway this all leads to mirror shinji ryuga. a tulpa created by child yui to keep her company and who becomes malicious bc he sees a way out of his own fate (being a tulpa/unreal mirror entity) due to the war and honestly doubly so bc shiro goads him into it. idk he is so doomed to me so sad. he doesn’t really have a choice at all bc from conception as yui’s tulpa, he is fated to be an alternate and never real unless given the chance that shiro and the war provides

anyway proving yet again that men manipulating and destroying for their own personal benefit is the problem. bc we truly dont know how many resets shiro needed to learn his lesson and to listen to his sister’s wishes. also alternate ending special’s writing is poor and misunderstands a lot of characters tbh. it had some really low points in there fuck man its really bad towards the end stop being misogynistic
