Have you ever read Going Postal, also by Terry Pratchett? I haven't read too many of his books (maybe about 5-I don't want to read them all and then have none left), but that one's my favorite. What did you think about it?
UGH I HAVE A LOT OF MOIST VON LIPWIG FEELINGS, but Going Postal/Making Money are not on the guide because I feel like in order to properly appreciate those books you must first have developed some Ankh-Morpork feelings by reading a bunch of the other books :D BUT MOIST, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I HAVE GOTTEN PAST MY INHERENT DISLIKE OF THE WORD MOIST IN YOUR SPECIFIC CASE
Also, dude, a million points for the 30 Rock reference in your URL. LEAP DAY WILLIAM IS THE SHIT.
I thought I'd say hello, and thank you for reading my meta-sort of thing!! How'd you like this episode?
I thought the costumes were hysterical (even the background actors have costumes, I'm thinking about watching it again because I didn't catch them all, what with paying attention to the actual plot and all....) but TROY AND ABED. ALL THE FEEEEEELS, NOOOOOO.
They are the only constantly good thing about this show, and even when they've disagreed on something or "fought" it's never been serious and it's never lasted past the end of an episode-- they've always always always gotten closure before the credits. And it was even more painful because after Abed asked, "Still best friends?" Troy said, "Always," but that was immediately followed by the non-reciprocation of the handshake.
(Also I would like to point out the Snapeyness of that "always"........ I'M SORRY.)
And I think all the past situations where they fought were about Abed being neutral and Troy being upset. This time, Abed's the one being cold/the one who's changed, and I think (given his personality) changing or going back to how they were before would take a LOT more than it would to change Troy's mind. Troy always comes through for Abed because of strong emotional ties, but Abed doesn't really feel things the same way, so he has less of a reason to remain attached... Not that they aren't friends or that Abed doesn't care about Troy as much as Troy does about Abed, but I think that if something in Troy breaks, it's more easily fixed than if Abed gets broken. And the fact that Troy lied to Abed, and that entire conversation at the end even took place, definitely caused some damage.
I'VE THOUGHT TOO HARD ABOUT THIS OKAY.
TL;DR: I just want them to be back together again.
ALSO I'm really hoping that there will be a time in an episode (possibly one where Chang endangers Abed?) where Abed doesn't have to listen to Troy, but trusts him enough to trust his judgement, and is 'saved' in some sense because of it.
BUT OH GAWD THIS EPISODE JUST KILLS ME.
He jumped with a start.
"Oh, it's leap day!" he exclaimed, bounding to the wardrobe.
