Liberation from Past

This morning was like any other morning. The village was awakening from the sleep and birds were chirping their morning songs.

The sage and his disciple were getting ready to go for their daily chores. But it became a bit late today. Today they were supposed to go to their hermitage which was on the other side of the river bank. The river was shallow and could easily be crossed without a boat.

School is doing a great job at making me unlearn stuff I studied my ass off for a few years ago and I feel like I kind of wasted part of my life and will forever be stressed but why can't they focus on accepting they as a singular pronoun instead of editing the English Composition curriculum to include no Latin vocabulary?
