I am currently learning the different ways to express agreement with someone/something.

In one of my learning books, I see for the expression ‘Akkoord gaan met...’ a few examples, including those two:

Ik ga niet akkoord met wat Piet gisteren zei.

Ik ga er niet mee akkoord.

While the first sentence is completely understandable for me, the second one comes without any explanation. I really don’t understand the use of ‘er’ and ‘mee’ (which is a word I don’t know yet). Could anyone explain this to me, please? Thank you!
