❥・Yet you aren’t, and so he puts up with your memory issues. Truthfully he found you incompetent before daring but after he got to know you, cliche— but he fell for you, bad memory included.

❥・Sometimes he’ll just sit nearby or stand behind you being like ‘can I help you yet’ because he wants to try remind you, as the boyfriend he is. But he gets that you wanna do it alone sometimes.

❥・It later becomes a known fact that if anyone says a thing about you Maki will deal with it accordingly, doesn’t matter who. As long as you smile at her when it’s all said and done, holding her hand.

❥・The sweetest, we know it. Makes sure you’re never too tough on yourself, gets worried when you won’t let him help but if you wanna try remember on your own he won’t stop you.
❥・If you manage to do so he’s so very proud of you <3
❥・When you forget a date here or there he never gets mad, ever. You cannot help it and he’d never take it out on you.
❥・Sure he’s sad, but it makes him think of ways to help you more so it won’t happen again. Your ‘issues’ aren’t problems to him, so don’t ever think they are.

❥・If you ask for help she will but unlike others she lets you do a lot of it yourself because it’s what she’s used to. She’ll stay with you, and when you ask she’ll tell you.

❥・’My lover? BAD MEMORY? NONSENSE!!’ And nonsense it is, because he believes that if you forgot then it’s not worth remembering!
❥・Meeting with the Utahime forgotten? So what! Forgot to meet up with Miwa and Mai? Reschedule! He never ever blames you.
❥・If it’s REALLY important then he just makes sure you don’t forget, reminds you, picks you up and spins you around while telling you to better cement the memory in your mind!

❥・Occupied with work and finding it difficult? Don’t worry, he’s here to help.
❥・Pulls you aside and helps organise your stuff to make things easier, he’s a lawyer so organisation is unfortunately a necessity more often than not.
❥・Best moments of his day are when you’re both tired from work and fall asleep in each others arms after dinner, and if you ever think your bad memory is a bad thing he pulls out all the stops in his law books to prove you otherwise.

❥・Pretty defensive of you since weakness is really unbecoming to CERTAIN people.
❥・Always holds your face as a habit while reassuring you, if her students say anything? Yeah, ten laps and extended training. Teach them to be good people and good sorcerers.
❥・‘I don’t care if it was a joke, three more laps.’ Even if you say it’s not necessary, she still does it because she wont let them disrespect you or general struggles.

❥・Prior to dating you, he thought all humans had memories as bad as yours. Then panicked after Yuji told him that’s NOT normal, really.
❥・Hovers CONSTANTLY at the start. You have to tell him that it’s your issue and that he can support you but not give you answers.
❥・Yuji sort’ve had to force him to pull away and chill for a few hours weekly so you can try alone.
❥・But just know if it ever becomes too much, and you get overwhelmed— just text him and he’s there immediately. Hugging you from behind and helping with what you need!

Been kinda confused how I entirely forgot this “Grace” girl character from Project Hail Mary. Wondered if maybe they added her to the movie because I’ve only read the book. Shrugged it off but was very confused when I kept seeing posts about her knowing Rocky.
IT’S RYLAND’S LAST NAME. I ENTIRELY FORGOT THE MAIN PROTAGONIST’S NAME.
I remember now how I did know this. Because initially reading I had thought he was one of those southern people with the double first-middle names. But his last name is just a name that is also commonly a first name and I’m silly…
In my very weak defense, I read the book several months ago when I first heard this movie was happening.
Another one of my old AUs I haven't touched for years!
So, the story is centered in Ink and Error, but mostly from Error's point of view since Ink is not exactly... In his right mind all of the time.
To summarize the plot; Ink evolves Dementia, which his bad memory had been a sign for since forever.
Ink forgets faces, voices, places and sometimes even who he was, which forcefully takes away his position as the Guardian of AUs... He couldn't even be sad by it anyway; he can't even remember how much he once valued the AUs!
The story goes on as the Stars are too busy to care for Ink and the multiverse at the same time, unfortunately sending him to a safe Asylum AU where he could get the attention he needed as his condition got worse and worse.
Error, however didn't find destructing fun anymore, not without a Guardian to come after him and have a good fight like him and Ink did. So he did go after his greatest enemy to know what the hell had happened.
At the Asylum, Ink barely recognized Error at all, but managed to remember fragments of who he was and was actually very happy to see him, showing stuff he'd been doing there and the music player they gave him. His paintings got messier, too abstract to make anything out of it and lines too shaky to be purposeful.
Error eventually too him in; taking him out of that Asylum and bringing him to a proper house he'd live in for the rest of his very short, very bitter life...
I originally made the story due to a research I decided to make on the stages of dementia, then introduced it to a character I liked!
The canon ending includes Ink becoming unable to move most of his body, only remembering Error because of a star hoodie he wore; so in a cliff, after Error apologized to him for not trying to fix things earlier, the kiss, a kiss that sealed Ink's death as the sickness finally took over him, taking him away from Error just when he realized and accepted his feelings.
I'll admit, it is a bit of a cringy romance, but I sincerely like the story, I'd rewrite it some day!
I also have old drawings about it!!! (I can post is tomorrow if this AU is interesting to anyone, I don't have much though.)
That book influenced me deeply and changed the shape of my soul. I don't remember a single thing about that book. But it influenced me so much I don't have words for it.
it makes me sick, sometimes. thinking about what i've forgotten.
