we started playing with bows and arrows the other day, and the kids have been happily building walls using @connetix_tiles and shooting arrows by @treasuresfromjennifer. lots of learning through play happening here, and it’s been a lot of fun! 🎯 today, the yellow arrow went missing after a shot went wild. Topher isn’t sure what happened and he said it went “that way”. 👈 I was tired after a long day at work, and I was close to getting upset and losing it over a missing piece from their newish set. I really like having things kept in full sets so it really was hard for me. These frustrating thoughts ran through my mind, “It’s new! One piece was missing! It cost money! Why weren’t they being responsible for their toys! I can’t give you nice things!” 😡 But I didn’t. I kept quiet, keeping my litany of upsets to myself. It was all in my head. I watched them get a torchlight, and work together to try to find the missing arrow, no one was too worried or anxious about it. They were trying. And then I felt much better, knowing that that my children were not going to stress about one missing piece from their set and go crazy like me. Or feel guilty about it. It was an accident and crazy things do happen to flying objects. It’s OK. 🌈 #untigeringme #learningtoletgo #parentingtheloongs #learningtobeabetterparent #momlyfe #parentingmyway #parenting #peaceandcalming #noshameparenting #noguiltparenting #lovethesekids https://www.instagram.com/p/CP3ENpjH8Hm/?utm_medium=tumblr
