How was the makeup? Were your eyes as pretty as eyes can be?

It turned out not the greatest, lol, but that's what practice is for! The look I was trying also used no eyeliner; the eyeshadow itself was supposed to be the eyeliner because of how dark it is. I've found that eyeliner really suits me, so I think I'll have to find another look that incorporates it and makes my eyes pretty :3

The thing that worked well for me in the dating app process (specifically on Her) was paying close attention to some of the what they want section. If they very clearly had a bunch of kinks/sex things they significantly wanted, I knew it wasn't going to work for little ace me. But when I came across someone with a small touch of that, but a very clear focus on how cuddles and connection were vastly more important, it just felt right (and also the hobbies and interests matched to an unreal level)! And they're absolutely amazing and I'm so happy!!!

You need to remember that you're not trying to impress total strangers and change yourself to be the person they want - you're showing yourself off and being the person you want to be and waiting for the person who will adore you for being you to bump into you!

And that's a hard thing to handle, especially as an ace lesbian (and minority generally), because there are going to be a lot of people you aren't interested in or who aren't interested in you (and bots and people looking for threesomes etc etc). But you don't need to be the girl for everyone, you just need to know that your girl is out there looking for you and you need to shine through so she'll find you when the time comes!

(not that I believe in soulmates or anything, there are probably a bunch of people you could build a fantastic life with, and you will statistically have a bunch where you try and it doesn't work out, and that's fine too. Just hard.)

I've been pretty picky with the selections the app gives to me and very observational about the wants and preferences of others. That's one of the reasons why I've only swiped right on one person so far. Since it shows me distance too, I've been looking at that and determining if they live within around 30 minutes away from me (lets face it, this little lesbian doesn't even have her license-), I wouldn't want a future partner to be driving hours on end just to see me for a little bit, then be tired when they drive back home. Even if it is a romantic concept, lol. It's nice to have pictures as well on there (which I know is a common thing for the apps), because then I can use that to gauge if my aesthetic attraction fires off, haha! That's definitely a thing I look for and take into consideration after I look at the wants and other details.

But yeah, I just want to be able to be myself around a partner in the future and just be able to build up something beautiful, so you are right in that I should just keep being myself and someone perfect will walk into my life, love me for me, and just be a perfect first partner back into the dating world. If I'm not myself, they won't fall for me, but rather the mask I put on.

I'm honestly getting excited about the concept of finding someone nearby, just because I've been craving that physical affection for so long... I really just wanna cuddle and take naps, give big hugs and hold hands... just all of it, I'm so excited for! Keep your fingers crossed and your manifestations high for me! 💕
