LEARN TO DRAW CHARACTERS IN 30 DAYS (day 0)

Hello everyone! I'll do the "LEARN TO DRAW CHARACTERS IN 30 DAYS" challenge created by Marc Brunet! This challenge has the purpose of improving character drawing! Each day you will have a drawing exercise to complete. You can see the video below!

I've been drawing for some years now but it's always been a hobby for me, I've never practiced drawing seriously. I want to improve my drawing skills because I want to do some projects that involve drawing. And drawing characters is important for me! But I'm not confident in my drawing skills so far. I can only draw heads from some angles, my characters' bodies are weird and my characters' positions are limited. But I really want to improve that skill! So that's why I'm doing a drawing challenge! And since I want to see my progress, here is a drawing that I've done recently:

I will compare this sketch with the one that I will do after the challenge!

So in the following month, I will post every day to share my progress in the challenge! I'll surely talk about the choices I made, what gave me some trouble, and what I liked! I want to have a series of drawings, so we can see my improvements in the following month! I will use both digital and traditional drawings. Because I want to improve my digital drawing skills, but I still want to draw on paper and use my supplies.

Day 23-27 of learn to draw in 30 days

Doing the street in 1 point perspective wasn't too hard after doing the previous days

the boxes in 2 point perspective was definitely harder but I think they turned out okay in the end, the building in 2 point perspective was a hit harder but the lines from the vanishing points helped alot and I think they turned out decently

The hands were a bit of a challenge I found constructing them a bit hard at first but it was definitely easier to construct them than trying to just copy thr references like I have in the past and I think a few of them ended up quite nice

The maze in 2 point perspective wasn't too bad but I found it hard to destinguish which wall was what and ended up with a lot of lines everywhere which made it look messy but I don't think they turned out terribly

Day 28-30 of learn to draw in 30 days. I'm finally done!

I did it in a time span greater than 30 days because I struggle with motivation and also life happened a few times in the course of it.

I found the boxes changing angle surpringly difficult with trying ti make it look like their angle was changing across the 6 different cubes.

The hands was of course difficult especially because of the posing with the cylinder and I got a bit side tracked and drew a skeleton hand which I think helped me understand how hands are made up and move which helped alot with construction and I think a few turned out decently.

I found the skulls harder than I thought they'd be, I've drawn skulls in the past and managed so I had thought that I wouldn't find this too hard but what I found difficult was actually constructing them as in the past I just copied the lines which I was trying not to do with these, I did work it out with some help and I think they turned out pretty decent.

LEARN TO DRAW CHARACTERS IN 30 DAYS (day 3)

Hello everybody! This is day 3 of the "LEARN TO DRAW CHARACTERS IN 30 DAYS" challenge made by Marc Brunet! And here we have today's assignment:

So we have to take a drawing of a clothed character and try to trace over it where the body part should be. It was pretty quick to do, so for today I took more references from different places. That's why I will be using my drawing tablet for today's exercise! It will be more convenient that way for me! But is mostly drawings from Tim Löchner, an artist that I really like. You can find some of his illustrations on Artstation. I also used an image of Komi Shousuke from Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu! Since I wanted to draw more male characters. So here is what I did for today's assignment:

I suppose that the purpose of this day was to learn the different curves of the human body and try to think about the basic anatomy. I think that I've done well on the basic outline! But my lines aren't very precise. I still have some problems with the pressure of the style here. I will have to train more in the future!

Day 18-22 of learn to draw in 30 days

I found constructing the different shapes very fun and it was good to combine a bunch of the stuff I've learned from this challenge into these shapes I've never quite understood construction and I don't think I'm 100% there on my understanding of it but I think doing these drawings definitely helped.

Doing more on perspective I found really helpful and I quite enjoyed drawing the boxes in perspective especially learning about the vanishing point which I didn't understand before trying this challenge.

Days 12-17 of learn to draw in 30 days

I quite enjoyed drawing the cylinders in different shapes but I found the twisting boxes very hard but i think I got them to a decent level.

The spheres cut in 3 was fun to do I didn't find it too hard and the boxes with extrudes and shapes cut into it was fun to do I found it worked quite nicely although my attempt to draw shapes coming off of a sphere didn't work but this task I've found helped with understanding how to construct stuff out of shapes.

The cups and bowls weren't too hard to do but I found the bowl shape the hardest of the 3 but I think I worked it out well enough although they could probably be more even since they look a bit wonky and I found extending a cylinder shape into the bowl shape made it easier to draw.

I found the bunches to cylinders with a torus around them surprisingly hard since alone I don't find cylinders to difficult but a bunch affecting each other was harder than I thought it would be and making it look like the torus is actually holding them together quite hard but I think a few of them turned out decently.

Day 7-11 of learn to draw in 30 days

I found the stacks of cubes and cylinders a bit difficult but I think they turned out decently

I quite liked drawing the eye balls, but it was hard to make them even and not wonky
