HILLARY CLINTON IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED WOODS OF AMERICA AND SHE HAS FOUND HER PEACE, LEAVE HER BE! #LeaveHillaryAlone
Watching & Listening
I watched a few more videos about the Clintons and what they’ve done to hurt the black community, and I see the role mass incarceration played in what we’re seeing today with African Americans being jailed at an alarming rate. But, let’s be fair... Hillary only spoke in support of those bills, which she shouldn’t have done, but they didn’t know what the consequences on being “tough on crime” would bring.
And, a large part of the “tough on crime” policies seem to be problematic, mainly, because of the War on Drugs, which was not a Clinton policy. Furthermore, this was Bill--not Hillary. I think it’s a little fair to criticize Clinton for Clinton, but that’s assuming Hillary’s presidency would not be her own, which is unfair. Why wouldn’t it be? I mean, honestly....
Also, most people seem to be overlooking that Bernie Sanders voted for this bill they’re criticizing Hillary for, which she didn’t vote for herself. To be fair, there’s overwhelming evidence to suggest that Sanders voted for it as a compromise to get “Violence Against Women” legislation, which is wonderful. Go Bernie! But, still, I like how Hillary put out an apology, which I finally read, and the news anchor I watched immediately dismissed it with ““#WhichHillary.”
What does this woman have to do? You demand an apology, she gives one, and you immediately dismiss her and imply that she doesn’t mean it. What the fuck? I’d honestly never heard of the term “super predator” before, but it wasn’t her term; it was what they were saying at the time to describe the crime situation, which they were trying to solve. Yes, the way they decided to “solve” the problem is unfortunate, but here she is apologizing for what she said.
What more do you want?
I also watched a 15-minute long video about the Clintons and Black History. Some of it was fair, but most of it was just... Like, the video claimed Clinton ran a racist campaign in 2008; they showed a clip of an older, racist Clinton supporter (just one) to support this and then made the case that Clinton was only trying to appeal to white voters. OK, but now in 2016, Bernie Sanders is the one struggling with minority voters.
Which then turns into the Clintons are using black people... What? Every win she gets is questioned; people try to take her wins away. Oh, she cheated with fucking coin tosses, she bought the race, she’s lying to minorities, #WhichClinton? Let’s criticize her for her husband’s policies, let’s say she’s not fucking cool enough, let’s blast her for progressing her views. I mean, if you want Bernie, go for it, but don’t be sore losers and don’t make up shit to excuse why you’re losing--fair and square.
Maybe, just maybe, some people genuinely like her.
Guys, I lost in 2008, when I wanted Clinton then, but I did not blame Obama or anyone else. I carried on and voted for Obama, because it was the right thing to do. And, I really hope y’all do the same. Y’all say Clinton is a calculated politician, and that’s why you hate her, but calculated or not, she’s on our side. Isn’t that a good thing? What she said in a 20+ year old video doesn’t change that. She’s growing with us, and that’s better than any Republican alternative.
