i quit my makeup artistry
life has been going by so fast lately and my decision making is no different. recently, i decided to give up my side hustle of being a makeup artist. after 5 years. even though my clientele was not that big, i still did a full range of makeup from natural to full glam, flaking dry skin to oils galore skin, all. of. it. i’m finally putting my career first, i loved doing makeup for others, but my love for makeup is not as passionate anymore. i now dread having to do makeup for others. i barely do makeup on myself anymore. don’t get me wrong, i will always do makeup for my sister, mom, and best friends if need be, but that’s only because i know their face as well as my own.
just the other day i threw away my entire freelancing kit and decluttered my personal makeup collection to the point where i have enough space to put every single item from sephora in there (i have a full vanity). doing makeup was my way of escaping the stress school and work used to bring me, but now that i have found other ways of de-stressing, makeup artistry is just not for me anymore.
