Sorry, I’m just thinking of the contrasts between Leb and Elise and the destinies they were essentially pre assigned along with their parallels. Both were found somewhere abandoned but Elise was always a witch. She was the product of a curse, a deal with the devil, and Lebkuchen was assigned a nun, a holy woman. Both of them want to be free from their destinies, from Kieferberg, but Elise wants to leave because she is an outsider, a person who is rejected, and Leb is the holy woman, a role that strains her, one she wants to escape. Friends since childhood, yet split apart by arbitrary things.
