Vicissitudo
Will didn't sleep for most of the night, focused on the body he so securely held. Taking count of each soft, calm breath coming from Hannibal's lips, in every shift and sound. Will watched, held, remembering moments when he was the one being held, how their roles would revert and he will be the one in need of care and safety.
He wanted to think those days were long gone. For he now was the one offering care, offering safety. For he was the pillar of his lover's psyche, and Will wanted to imagine himself as someone strong enough to sustain it. Sustain the enormous weight of Hannibal's mind palace. Be an equal, not something more or less.
/Such a thrill, such warm satisfaction, in the knowledge that he was here, holding in his arms the most dangerous of beings. Caring, nurturing and loving this man whom stirred fear on other's hearts/
/Such sweet, dark pleasure in the knowledge that Hannibal Lecter, and all he represented, was completely and utterly Will's./
"Mine" He whispered against Hannibal's hair. Almost possessive. /Mine/
Morning came with greyish clouds and a light mist of rain; the beginnings of what promised to be a typical autumn day showing already, temperature having dropped as hours passed by to a comfortable chill. Will was the first to stir awake, still under the softness of blankets. His hold on Hannibal's body never once relenting, Will moved a little, nuzzling Hannibal's hair, caressing his back and sides.
From his own experience, Will knew that the drugs will make Hannibal groggy and maybe even disoriented. It was almost a miracle, for Will to be the one waking up first. "Hannibal... Wake up" He whispered, pushing at his lover's face gently with his own, unlatching the embrace just enough to slide more caresses, pushing Hannibal's sleeping face upward to press his lips against a cheekbone.
Eternidad
Will Graham had expected many things that fateful night. His mind, full of twisted creativity, imagined an array of scenarios, some of them passive, others aggressive. Some of them sad, others gruesome, others more or less... normal.
Playing over and over, Will imagined different scenarios after the truth came out to the light. But when the time came, and everything was told... only blankness and a deep sense of nothingness followed. Nothingness that was swept, with the devastating force of two single words.
It was incredible, how two simple words could hold so well the weight of eternity, the weight of /everything/. How the utterance could make hearts go crazy, breaths to be taken, souls to be sucked and then forcefully pulled inside a body, with the sheer weight of so /many/.
How difficult had it been, for him to hold Hannibal's gaze after that. How difficult had been to stay silent, and not end up spluttering either screams of happiness or anguish. How long had he stared at those garnet eyes, both of them shielded away, in the confines of their fabricated fortress, first scared with the prospect of a jest, and then dumbfounded upon the reality of it. The sincerity in his lover's eyes, the sweetness of his lips...
Marry Me.
/How incredibly, utterly, horribly difficult, had been... to simply stare, unable to voice out the jumble of 'everything' that ran through him/
'Fear. Happiness. Anger. Love. Desperation. Hope. Sadness. Joy. Incredulity. Want. Exhilaration. Despair'
Everything inside him screamed. And he fought... to part his lips and say that simple word, that absolute word, that could make them happy as long as they lived.
But Will couldn't. He couldn't muster the word, even when his mouth moved, ready to say it. Even when his eyes, locked with Hannibal's eyes, showed the answer he wanted to give. Instead, he shook his head, painfully, caressing Hannibal's face, leaning to kiss his cheek gently, and then moving away.
The fortress came tumbling down. Stars flickered again. A cold breeze swept over, as Will turned around, hiding his grief. "It's late." He whispered. Didn't say much as he packed whatever remained. Met Hannibal's eyes once as he put Lumen in his arms, and then walked back with him home.
And now, time later, as they crossed the threshold to the darkened spaces of Hannibal's home, their home, Will closed the door, shrouding them in darkness and flickers of moonlight crossing from windows. "I can't. We can't, Hannibal. Not when our lives are... in this mess we have created"
It hurt. It hurt. God, it did.

Will is in a serious, long term relationship with Dr. Hannibal Lecter. He loves the good doctor deeply, but among that love, there is a darker emotion, bordering on obsession, and that makes his mental instability more prominent.
"You realize how confusing this is. I was, well, in a lively mood before, and you were upset. I was submissive when you scolded me, and now you’re even more upset." He shook his head. "You need to tell me what it is you want." Waiting a moment, Hannibal then added, "Please." (Via Lectercollapsingchurches)
Will closed his eyes, and pinched the bridge of his nose tightly. White spots danced on his vision. He shook his head, and then stepped into Hannibal's space. Slowly, he bent down enough for their faces to be at equal level. A hand slipped along Hannibal's cheek, were the stubble was beginning to show. "I might not make sense now... but I know you understand. I want to know the truth. This... all of this. It was made for that sole purpose."
Will's hand slipped down, gently grabbing Hannibal's cheek, looking at him with the same bright, deep stare he used to analyze bodies on gruesome crime scenes "Do you think I am stupid? I know you're hiding something from me... What are you hiding? Why don't you answer my questions? You do entertain and gain pleasure from the act of consuming those you love, don't you...?"
Will smiled then, and it was a cruel thing, full of a maddened kind of hysteria coiled beneath layers of self restraint "Tell me, love. Was that what it really happened to your sister too? Was she the first one? How many after her... How many before me?" He whispered, his thumb caressing Hannibal's strong jaw and chin gently, in sharp contrast with the horrible darkness behind his words.
