i deleted my fic blog because it was stagnant and the community on here is fucking awful at giving any sort of feedback or exposure to fics. now, this is a microblogging platform so some of that is to blame, but it is still a blogging platform. the functionality to write long text posts is there, but the community doesn’t respond to it. tumblr is much more a place for sharing art (same problem applies though everyone sucks at sharing that, too) and quick reads than for fics.
people use this site to devour information quickly and not pay it much thought. it’s for mindless scrolling and I think that’s why it was unenjoyable and ultimately fucking pointless for me to share fic here. You can take in and enjoy a piece of art in a few seconds but that’s not possible with fic.
after reading a few things on ao3 which had actually a decent amount of feedback (by that I mean more than one (1) whole comment) i’m hoping that maybe I can get something done there and still “advertise” fics on my sideblogs here. maybe i can enjoy writing again, who knows.
