He hadn’t expected the rain, he wasn’t prepared for the rain. The main reason being that it wasn’t supposed to rain today, according to the weather report he’d looked at before leaving his dorm room to head to the library to get some research done. Hell, the sky had been completely clear when he’d stepped out of the dorm building and made his way across campus toward the library. But he’d also hadn’t planned on staying in said library for so long; which had clearly been enough time for the weather to completely change. He stood frozen at the library doors, not wanting to leave but having very little choice as the library was closing in the next few minutes and the librarians were making quick work of getting the students out before then.
“This is stupid,” he muttered as the seconds passed by and the library speakers blared to life, announcing to the stragglers of it’s closing time. Knowing that he didn’t have much more of a choice, he readjusted the strap of his book bag on his shoulder and pushed the door open, brazing himself for the cold rain water that was sure to soak him the moment he stepped out. With any luck, he’d make it back to the Oblivion dorms without getting completely soaked, or at least before his notes were completely soaked beyond recognition. The last thing he wanted was to have to come back to the library to re-write all the notes he’d spent the last couple of hours writing and researching. Or at least that had been the plan, before he’d made his way down the steps of the library as fast as the water would let him; only to come to a stop as he pushed back his wet hair from his eyes; catching sight of someone standing at the bottom of the steps, seemingly content to remain there regardless of the down pour. “You’re going to get sick if you don’t get out of the rain and somewhere warm soon,” he said as he came to a stop at the bottom of the steps.
