House of Mirrors || Lee & Haku
for @rockcandyboy because you liked this post!
Of all the attractions, games, and rides at the carnival, the mirror maze was perhaps the simplest of them all. And yet, Haku found himself inexplicably attracted to it.
From the outside, he could hear people running into the reflective glass, their peals of laughter and grunts of mingled pain and frustration. It seemed.. fun.. in a weird, confusing sort of way. After all, it was odd to find that people were willing to enter such a confusing place and be the subject of laughter for anyone watching them outside of the maze.
As he entered the house of mirrors, Haku found it wasn’t that challenging of a feat to avoid running into the glass that surrounded him and projected his appearance as if he had been cloned suddenly.
Disorienting as it was, the effeminate male still seemed able to see through the illusions. Not all of the panes were mirrors. Some were just glass panes set strategically to make him think there was another mirror or another way out when there really wasn’t.
Another, albeit slightly humorous discovery Haku made were the slight smudges on the surfaces of some mirrors and glass panes where others ran into them with utmost confidence that they had found the way out.
It brought a small giggle to his lips and helped him to maneuver his way through the maze.
There were others trying their hand at the maze as well, all at different points of completion, but there was one person in particular that caught his eye simply due to the fact that Haku recognized him.
He seemed to be having a little bit of trouble seeing through the illusion and trickery of the maze.
“Having trouble?” he teased with a small smile as he flawlessly made his way over to the other, ending up right behind him.
