Lee and Talbott for the sleep ask? 💚

Who is a night owl: Both of them. Lee can’t sleep until his brain decides to shut up (fun with ADHD amirite fellas) and Talbott works best creatively speaking at night. It’s not uncommon for them to cross paths after midnight. 

Who is a morning person: Neither of them. In fact, Lee's been known to slip a touch of wideye potion into his morning tea. Really gives it the kick it needs. Talbott can’t decide if he finds it smart or concerning. 

Are they cuddlers: When the mood strikes, yes. It’s a unanimous, “fuck no” when it’s super hot out. 

Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon: Both of them. They’re about the same height, so it’s easy for them to switch it up. Talbott prefers to be the big spoon when they’re both tired and liable to fall asleep, though. Lee drools.

What is their favourite sleeping position: Lee likes to sleep on his side, oftentimes while facing Talbott (he’s a nice sight to fall asleep/wake up to, after all). Tal also sleeps on his side, either in fetal position or with at least one leg up towards his chest. He has a tendency to face Lee as well. 

Who steals all the blankets: Talbott. Lee likes to think of it as him making a nest for himself. 

What they wear to bed: T-shirts and boxers, usually. Sometimes pajama pants on colder nights. Lee goes shirtless in the summer.

Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt: Oh, they both do. Lee’s more obvious about it than Talbott, but he enjoys it just as much. There’s just something v appealing about seeing your SO in your clothes, you know?

Who falls asleep mid-conversation: Neither of them. Get these two started and they can talk through the night. 

Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares: Both of them, but thankfully, it’s not a frequent thing. I like to think they’ve both found peace of mind as adults. The past visits, but it doesn’t haunt them. 

Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep: Lee. He tends to move around in his sleep and has definitely whacked Talbott before. 

Who can’t keep their hands to themself: Lee, no doubt. Talbott not so secretly doesn’t mind.

2.  What’s something that they really bond over together?

In the beginning, it was their mutual disdain for Divination. I hc they both stayed in that class specifically for each other because they both think Trelawney’s full of it (and she is the majority of the time), but they had a great time being skeptical assholes together lol. 

Side note: I know the game strays from canon with its class structure for convenience’s sake, but if they were following the books, I doubt Lee’s, Talbott’s, and Tonk’s O.W.L. grade combined would be enough for any of them to get into Trelawney’s N.E.W.T.-level class. Bunch of clowns, all of them. 

3.  How do they flirt with each other before dating?  How does it change after they start dating?

Lee’s a flirt, so he’s all about suggestive comments and checking out Talbott’s ass. He was slightly more tactful about it before they started dating, but not by much, lol. Subtly is Talbott’s thing. He mastered the art of secretly eyeing Lee a long time ago. 

4.  What does the rest of the Mystery Crew think about them?  Do they even know about it?

While they were at Hogwarts, the Mystery Crew never knew. They only dated for a few weeks before they broke up because of Lee’s unresolved feelings for Rowan. The only person who found out about them was Rowan, and considering he fancied Lee, he wasn’t thrilled about it.

1, 7, 26 and 30 for Lee and Talbott?

1.  How does their relationship develop in tandem with the Vaults?  Are they a hindrance or do they bring them closer together?

Ultimately, I think the Vaults brought them closer together. Talbott’s trustworthy and dependable; that’s invaluable to Lee. Even when they were at odds, he always knew he could count on him when he needed help with the Vaults. 

7.  Did your MC or the character(s) you ship them with date anyone else before them?  What were those relationships like?

Neither of them dated anyone before each other, but Lee did have his first kiss with Rowan the summer before their sixth year. It happened when they were drunk, so naturally they were very mature about it and didn’t discuss it at all the next morning. The conversation didn’t come up until after Rowan found out about Lee and Talbott, and boy, it was a fun one. Not disastrous at all. 

26.  If they get married, who proposes to whom?  And how do they do it?

You know, I decided a while ago that Lee was the one who proposed to Talbott, but I hadn’t thought about how he went about it. Hm.

Lee and Tal are both bird animagi. At the end of their first date (the Valentine's Day event), Lee initiated a game of tag that took them to the skies and ended with them overlooking the Black Lake together as the sun set. For his proposal, I think Lee would try and emulate that moment. Take Tal somewhere scenic and pop the question after they stretched their wings with a game of tag because I’m stupid soft for proposals with callbacks to the couple’s early days. :,)

30.  Do they participate in the Second Wizarding War?  Or do they keep to themselves?  How do they each feel about it?

Yes, they did. I hc that both Talbott and Lee were members of the Order of the Phoenix and fought at the Battle of Hogwarts where Tal actually saved Lee’s life. He incapacitated a death eater before he could cast the killing curse on Lee while he was fighting someone else. 

The thing about these two though is they weren’t together when this happened. In fact, they weren’t even friends. That conversation with Rowan I mentioned earlier? It might’ve been the catalyst for their breakup, and it’s possible Lee choosing Rowan (old feelings die hard) over Talbott might’ve left them at odds for years. Possibly.  

They didn’t speak after the battle, but they did look for each other to make sure the other was still alive. The war didn’t bring them back together, but it did lay the groundwork for their eventual reconciliation years later.

As for how they felt about it? Lee’s mum is muggleborn and Talbott’s parents were murdered by death eaters. The battle was personal for both of them.
