I had so much fun making art for this year's Small Fandom Big Bang! This piece was created for Melime and @hetaliaelizabeth's X-Men: The Animated Series fanfic, "What makes a family".

“You two wanna see something cool?” Jubilee asks them, and then conjures lights around the tree, explosions of color that shine against the ornaments. Because this is the best part of living here. They never have to hide who they are, and she wants to show these children that a mutation isn’t something to be ashamed of or hide away, that they can be happy being exactly who they are, mutation and all. It’s something that sometimes she still has to remind herself, but she’s learning. And she wants to spread that joy. Both of them gasp, and look at her like she’s the real Santa Claus coming through a chimney, their eyes shining as bright as the lights that she’s conjuring. “So pretty!” Mariana says, reaching her hands to the lights. At the same time, Leech says with a wide smile, “Do it again!”
