Lee Dong Hwi Clears Up Misunderstanding About His Alleged Rudeness Towards Ryu Jun Yeol

Lee Dong Hwi, one of the stars of the hit drama Reply 1988, recently addressed the controversy surrounding his supposed rude behavior towards his co-star and friend Ryu Jun Yeol. The actor explained what really happened and how he felt about the issue.

Some of the comments were: “He should have dressed more appropriately for the occasion. During the show, he talked about his friendship with Ryu Jun Yeol and the other cast members of Reply 1988. He said that he was surprised by the negative reactions to his attendance at Ryu Jun Yeol’s exhibition, as he had no intention of being disrespectful or rude. Pegasus Market is a 12-episode workplace comedy starring Kim Byung-chul (SKY Castle, Doctor Prisoner), Lee Dong-hwi (Reply 1988, Designated Survivor: 60 Days), Park Ho-san (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, The Ghost Detective) & Jung Hye-sung (Oh, The Mysterious, Chief Kim). This is a drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name which has garnered over 110 million views in Korea. It tells the story of employees at a financially struggling store where the staff is king, instead of the customers. While the manager tries to revive the mart, they are up against the “human bulldozer” that aims to ruin the store.

Moon Seok-goo (Lee Dong-Hwi) works as a manager at Pegasus Market, which belongs to the Daema Group. Pegasus Market is in a bad shape as they don't have many customers and Moon Seok-goo is frustrated by the store's situation. One day, Jung Bok-dong (Kim Byung-Chul), who was an executive at Daema Group, is demoted to the CEO position at Pegasus Market. Manager Moon Seok-goo begins to have hope that the store will experience a positive turnaround with the new CEO. In reality, Jung Bok-dong just wants to destroy Pegasus Market to take revenge on Daema Group for his demotion. Unexpectedly, Jung Bok-dong's actions soon causes the store to attract customers. 

Kim Byung-chul is best known for his role in Sky Castle & Doctor Prisoner. He has received a lot of love for his role as Professor Cha Min-hyuk in Sky Castle and was further recognized after taking up the lead role in Doctor Prisoner. Both titles hit exceptionally high ratings during their broadcast in Korea and had viewers hooked onto his acting. Lee Dong-hwi too is well-known for his roles in the dramas Reply 1988 & Entourage, not forgetting record breaking movies Extreme Job & The Bros. Both actors are highly anticipated for their portrayal of comedic roles in their work.  

Baek Seung-ryong, who has previously worked on variety shows and dramas such as Surplus Princess, Actor School, and Saturday Night Live Korea, will be directing the drama.

Viewers can look forward to having a good laugh over how the employees from Pegasus Market and the Daema group clash due to their contrasting working environments, as well as the unpredictable storyline.

Board director of Daema group.

The genius boss who tries to take revenge on Daema Group by destroying Pegasus Market. He was originally a board director at Daema Group and was trusted by the CEO for his clear insight and fastidious personality, but he was suddenly demoted to being the boss of Pegasus Market. He tries to drive Pegasus Market to the ground by hiring people who have failed at life and are unlikely to be hired by anyone else.

Lee Dong-hwi (as Moon Seok-goo)

Manager of Pegasus Market.

A foolish shopkeeper who wants to make Pegasus Market the No. 1 retailer store. Although he seems a bit dim-witted, he dreams of becoming an employee at the headquarters of Daema Group by reviving the mart.

Park Ho-san (as Kwon Yeong-goo)

Executive director of Daema Group.

He dreams of becoming No. 1 but is always beaten by Jung Bok-dong. Kwon Yeong-goo is afraid that Jung Bok Dong will find out that he is involved in embezzlement and tax evasion through Pegasus Market. He tries to prevent Jung Bok-dong from returning to Daema Group’s headquarters.
