Sometimes Eugene wished he never fell in love. Sure, he was never as overly emotional as many others nor was he stupid enough (his words) to do rash things out of love, but every once in a while he found himself having those idealistic "If only..." thoughts that only love could make one have.

Most prominently, "If only I didn't have to deal with Charles Choi..." and "If only I could run away somewhere where my lover, my brother, and Mandeok could all live carefree..."

As if you heard him thinking of you, Eugene noticed he received texts from you. When he read them, he disliked the feeling of heartache they gave him. How strangely uncharacteristic of him, to be feeling so much when he usually felt little as the cold leader of essentially a business gang.

He sighed and replied:

I'm sorry we haven't had the time to be together for a while. I will be sort of free for the next few nights, though, so you and I can spend some quiet moments together before heading to bed. After that, I'm afraid I can't risk taking off any more time from work. I'm sure you understand.
