Can Jake, Ax, Cassie, and Marco still morph Leerans?

Yeah, I think so? They get yanked through z-space for #18, but they're not sario ripped. So in theory, they should still have those morphs. Ax is pretty adamant that none of them want to use those morphs again, since it feels invasive and personal to humans or andalites to see into other minds that much, but I think it'd be possible.

If so, that's one heck of a good controller-detecting mechanism. Leerans can't exactly walk around a California mall checking every mind they pass. But it'd be awesome if Tobias had thought to, for example, have Ax hide in a hotel room adjacent to "Aria"'s and morph leeran long enough to check her for yeerks. Unmorphed Ax is a decent controller detector in his own right — all he has to do is walk out and see if the person acts shocked and confused, or pissed and trying to hide it — but leeran would be a great way to stealthily check on specific civilians.

Literally I was talking to Nym and I was like... I ID'd as ace... which led me to realize I was trans... which recontextualized my understanding of my sexuality... which led to me no longer IDing as ace but like : where would I be w/o that first step??? honestly I have no idea            

as someone w/ a wobbly, winding path in terms of self id, i can relate (even tho i never related to any a-spec id). and that reminds me that i usually hear abt these paths in negative ways tbh like....ace rhetoric hurting lgbtq+ ppl who used to id as ace. which is important to talk abt! but idt it’s good to use as some kind of “this is why ace positivity is bad” justification which is a real big leap.

Anny thoughts on the Leerans? What would they do after canon, relations with the galaxy, etc etc.

If I can give a very me (AKA dark and depressing) answer... I do have a headcanon about Leera. And it's that the whole planet was destroyed, not that long after the Animorphs fought there.

We know that the invasion of Leera is going badly -- leerans are too good at detecting controllers, and too effective at neutralizing them(#15). They're a Class Four species at best. We know that the andalites have mounted a strong resistance there, and that despite being hampered by traitors they're holding strong (#18). We know that Visser One is in charge of the invasion, at least until it's a non-issue in Visser. We know that a few Pool ships or Blade ships can annihilate an entire planet and from atmosphere, just by firing in coordination, and the only reason they hold back on Earth is that they're winning the war against humans (#46). And we know that Leera is just a footnote, "one of [Edriss's] many failures" by the time the serious discussions of Visser One's movements are occurring in Visser and #45.

So... yeah. I think Edriss fried the whole planet in order to cut her losses, some time between #18 and #30. Sorry.
