🍺🍺🍺🍺❌ • Left Field Brewery Big Train Zero IBU IPA ABV:6.1% IBU:0 • This one begins with cloudy and murky wheat malts that provide a creamy mouthfeel. Citric and tropical flavours of pineapple, papaya and grapefruit join in at the mid-sip. I’m picking up a slight hoppy note of pine that quickly disappears and leaves a very faint bitterness. Turns out that the so called “Zero IBU” is achieved by only adding the hops post boil. The reason I say so called, is due to the fact there are several ways of measuring IBU ratings. The one that backs this style’s claim, is called the tinseth formula, which gives no IBU rating for hops added post boil • You instantly pick up a bold hops aroma without the typical hops bitterness in the taste.
