here i am actually sitting down and writing out ideas i have for different l4d2 au's

this is really for my reference only but im publishing it bc maybe dan is as serious as i am about this shit

rock bottom here we come

Coffee Shop AU

nick moves to the south to escape his old life of the mafia and to grow old in peace and he absolutely does not anticipate how different the south is from where he comes from and is miserable for like HALF of the au

coach owns a coffee shop and rochelle and ellis work there

ellis flirts w/ nick through messages written on his coffee cups

despite not knowing nicks name (he gives him a plethora of nicknames)

basically an excuse to come up w/ silly southern-sounding petnames for nick and talk about how hilarious culture shock can be

Roadtrip AU

takes place in pretty much the same canon as the actual game except 1) they dont escape georgia & 2) they find a working car that they continue to upkeep as they travel around what is now a deserted wasteland

sometimes rlly funny other times kinda heart breaking

coach is literally a dad, rochelles a mom, ellis is the obnoxious lil kid and nicks the moody teenager

so nothings rlly changed

theyre travelling all over georgia bc this is built on the assumption that the "get to the bridge plan" didnt work, so now theyre lookin for a new way out. and a car makes navigatin a zombie-ridden land waaaaaaay easier

its like literally the game but theres a car involved

Ellis vs. the World AU

50's Highschool AU

we were gonna make a high school au but nick needed to be a greaser so

50's au

this one is admittedly gonna be tough bc society was way different back then, and w/ two poc characters (one being a woc) i refuse to be that au author who completely ignores the power imbalances of that time period. like REFUSE. so im gonna start doin some research on racism in the 50's and figure smth out.

if it seems too difficult or gets too sticky we'll move the piece to this era.

College AU

ellis and keith go to the same college and think theyre gonna get to room together but ellis gets put in a dorm w/ nick

which goes about as well as u can imagine

coach is an upperclassman and so is rochelle. theyre older than nick and ellis.

nick is also older than ellis but he started college a bit later/took some gap years so theyre starting at the same time.

i spent an embarrassingly long time writing this Up. Um. Here u go.

I GOT LEFT 4 DEAD 2!!!

I didn't pay for it but my friend who did got a great deal on it. He got 4 digital copies (steam) for 5 dollars each in a 20 dollar bundle! The game is made with source but it feel's like an entirely different engine.
