@legacy-game I used lots of planes. I’m not super good at explaining, so I’ll post some gifs of the process (here’s hoping tumblr doesn’t break them) below the break.
(video since gify is broken) What you’re seeing here are dynamic joints, on the ears, this is an earlier test so the hair and earrings aren’t yet added here. However, I used nHair for the earrings so get a more rapid motion.
This one I am testing the Set Driven Keys control I made for the eyes, there is a different mesh for each eye, but they all share the same topology, the next gif I’ll explain why that was important.
This one’s choppy, so go here to see it in full. In this I am using blendshapes to fake a 3D look on the meshes. This is why the geometry was important to be the same on all eyes, because I would make a right, left, and down blendshape and I can reuse them for each eye that is driven by the SDK control I made for the head (the green outline I am dragging around). I found it important to make the blendshapes really extreme so then I wouldn’t have any limits to how much I can push her to look around, but I wouldn’t ever go to the maximum limit as it just looks odd. The eye doesn’t perfectly line up, but it’s close.
Here’s another gif that shows the geometry transforming (click here for full video)
What I’m taking away from this for next time is to use the faces geometry for the eyes so then I can use the face geometry for each of the eye frames, that way I don’t waste time making another set of blendshapes just for the eyes and they can deform 1:1 with the head next time.
those recent uploads are so spicy there have been recent reports of hospitalization
Oh god to whom do I send flowers?!

this place where I get daily reminders on why I don’t want children, fawn over people’s dog and cat photos and watch artist drama unfold every time they erect a new statue in the town of my high-school 👌
legacy-game replied to your post “I hate drawing armor” "Nevermind”
you can't just drop my favorite fandom like this without warning
ahaha I’m sorry :D FMA Brotherhood is easily my favorite anime series (and one of the few I cared to finish) so I decided I’ll do a cutesy Halloween print of everyone’s sweet summer child ^^
“ANNIHILATE THEM!!!” Thanks legacy-game for letting me color all over your amazing sketch!
i love how you draw eyes, it looks so sree dee
I did a shitty little tutorial on drawing and coloring them before. :)
