LC2016: Day 2 Summary -- Tricia
AM service with Pastor Daniel
PM service with Pastor Lawrence
Got to say that morning service is a great way to start the day. The lights were amazing and the DJ definitely knew what he was doing, there was so much hype even before service started that we bounced our way into the Great Hall. It was yet another anointed time of praise & worship and the presence of the Lord was so intense. God is real and He IS here.
Pastor Daniel started off his sermon declaring over and over again that we are arrows in the hands of God, that we are an arrow of the Lord's deliverance, an arrow that encounters resistance when pulled back and when released by our Daddy God Himself, hit the mark. Ps Dan reminded us of the large-scale campfire we had yesterday where the archer took aim before shooting the arrow of fire, into the darkness towards the target and setting the fire ablaze. When we are shot out, we don't know what's coming ahead of us. We enter into the darkness, thinking that we are just flying aimlessly without a purpose, but SURELY we will hit the mark, reaching the final destination He had aimed us for. So don't just stop flying. Fly knowing that the Lord has God-sized dreams and blessings that He wants to pour unto you.
There was mainly 2 messages that Ps Dan wanted to share with us:
18 Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old
19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen.
21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.
We are not incidental. The Lord personally picked us by Himself. Out of the many people in the world He CHOSE us to know Him. We are a chosen generation that are so aptly blessed in so many areas. He worked to create you and will continue working for you! Whatever you're facing be it a bondage or feelings of rejection maybe, even the smallest things like not being able to do a split (a testimony that was shared), if it's important to you, He will work it out for you.
The theme verse for Legacy Camp 2016 was 1 Peter 2:9 where it says
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people; that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:
10 who once were not the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
What the Lord has done for us:
You are a chosen generation
What hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God
Which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy
And we therefore declare His praise. Be a loudhaler of His grace! Your actions and conduct speaks volumes to others which leads them towards Jesus. They'll see that you are set apart and special.
A consuming fire - Hebrews 12:29
Our God is a consuming fire. He is the light invading your darkness. Let His love consume every darkness, let His warmth hold you and hug out the coldness, the emptiness, the loneliness, the fear, feelings of rejection out of you. You are not alone.
Man were we pumped up for the mass games, fully aware that wet games were involved and ready to have some fun with the cluster. Unfortunately, due to the stormy weather today, the outdoor activities had to be cancelled and we had to follow the wet weather plan. However, it was just as fun! All the clusters were gathered in the Great Hall doing their respective cluster cheers in attempt to win some points for their cluster. When the mass games finally begun, there were several various games where every cluster sends out different teams of champions to fight it out with the other clusters in the arena. I remembered participating in the duck race where participants had to squat and race towards the other end where our opponents' are coming out to play a game of "scissors paper stone" and Justin was so dedicated in filming us throughout the progress of the camp that he was duck walking with us as He filmed. Let's just say that we ached together even throughout the next day. But during the final game when Justin represented our CG to participate in the saving of the prisoners ((aka Zixuan who got tied up lmao)), wow Justin really impressed us with his speed even though he had to repeatedly spin around a pole and run. We went wild seeing Justin in action. Such great potential in pole dancing man. We are so proud of you Justin! And guess what, we got 2nd overall in the end. EAST IS BEAST. Woohoo! P.s Samuel can pop bottles really well, he'll do his thing if you'll just hand him an empty plastic bottle.
So greatly blessed to have Pastor Lawrence here with us for Legacy! Remembered how surprised we were when Pastor said hi to us as we were walking past yesterday. We were so happy and excited to have him here with us.
Ps Lawrence really preached the house down with His sharp and precise words of the Lord. He introduced us to God being our friend. Not just any friend but our BESTEST FRIEND who will never leave nor forsake us. Ps shared that what could possibly be stopping us from living an abundant life is a lack of knowledge of His love for us or a flawed understanding of the word of God.
5 characteristics of God:
God is ever forgiving and so so merciful towards us. We can be slow in bearing fruit but He is never impatient with us. We are all gems in the making, His precious treasures. He will never leave us even when things happen to us and we just don't feel Him there. You know God swore that He will never ever leave nor forsake us so that we can establish in Him. Don't look at your circumstances or your feelings to determine the validity or the truth of our God. Don't let the world determine the validity of His word! It is purely just simple faith.
In 1 Peter 5:8-9, it says that the devil will always try to ruin our faith in Him. The devil will use the law as a weapon against you. He will accuse you, make you feel like trash, make you feel guilty. He wants to account you to nothing, to think what you are not. But the Lord says to resist him, resist him by declaring your identity in Christ. You ARE His treasure.
Going back to 1 Peter 2:9-10, we usually think that the word "Holy" is only used on people who probably never makes mistakes nor sinned. When we look it up in the blue letter bible, the word "holy" actually means set apart; special. We are His peculiar people for we have Jesus with us through every step of the way!
In 1 Peter 2:11-12, it says that we are sojourners and pilgrims.
sojourners - someone here in a place for a temporary period of time
pilgrims - on a journey to a final destination; the place where you're in is merely a temporary home; passing through
Ps Lawrence went on to talk about prophecying. In Acts 2:16-17, there is this part which says “I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”, and in 1 Corinthians 14:3-4, it says “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”.
You know we love because He first loved us. He is pursuing us. He wants us to desire spiritual gifts and one of them is to tell the future - prophecy
Prophecying in the new testament also means building others up, encouraging others, comforting each other.
There is power in the gift of prophecy. Your words have the power to change the destinies of man. Things happen when you prophecy, and He wants to use you to change and help others, to be a blessing to others. Remember how Ps Daniel said we are a chosen generation. All what we do is not for man but for Jesus, to glorify Him. You could have lost that vision in your life because you think that you are hopeless, unable to achieve it. The dream has died in a certain area of your life and deep down you tell yourself that you cannot make it. Just because something is dead does not mean that it will remain dead. Just because it is hopeless does not mean it will remain so. The Lord is here and He wants you to dream again. You are the generation that He wants to use. Your hands are the hands He uses to heal, your mouth is the mouth He uses to speak life into others. God will do something in your life. He wants to do something. He wants to reach out to you and touch you more than you want to touch Him. He called us, stop making excuses for yourself, don't say that you shouldn't, that you can't. He wants to use us to speak to the dry bones. Believe that God can and will use us. Your words are not lousy, believe that what you say is what God wants you to say. Don't ever doubt yourself in what you say nor the power of the Lord in controlling what you deliver from Him. It's not about you neither is it about the person you are praying for. Negative remarks and comments from others ain't going to stop you for He has called you. Who do you want to listen to and believe? Remember that prophecying is also about building others up and encouraging them. Who cares even if they say things about you and what you speak forth. Don't let them and the things they say determine what is of the Lord.
Who is to decide or question that you will be born in this time, in such a time to be part of this very generation. YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE and He HAS a purpose for you in your life. You are born in this time to do big things: He will do things in your life that you will never expect. The dreams and visions that you have, that's not your final destination. He has way more in store for you, so much more to give. Just look to Him regardless of what vocation you are in or end up being in. Let's all be blessed to be a blessing amen?
It's so amazing how we are able to begin and end the day with Jesus, it's an experience so full of His grace and mercy. Thank you Jesus. Words can't explain how much I personally received today, the encounter I had with our God was so personal to me, the love that I felt from Him was so fresh and real especially during the closing worship. I was completely swept away by His love, you know, entirely moved to tears. Just when I thought I wouldn't receive anymore, God just blows me away with a stronger revelation of His love each time. No matter how much I push it away ignoring it, thinking of how unworthy and undeserving I am, He just breaks through the barriers to touch me. To fully embrace me in His love. It's just so amazing how determined He is to reveal Himself to us, the magnitude of His love, God it's overwhelming. In the past I used to think that I love Jesus, but deep down inside I didn't exactly feel it. But for the first time in my life you know Jesus, I can say that I love you with all my heart and mean it Lord. I need you and I want you. So so much.
