In this movement, we might have different roles, working in many different ways,
Whether we are
The aggressive one, who stand on the frontlines,
The peaceful, rational and non-violent one, who work on promotion,
The logistics group that help to prepare the materials for the rally or gathering,
Social workers using their profession to keep the young protesters safe from the false arrest or cop brutality,
First aider who provide medical assistance during dangerous situations,
Or the legislative councilors who negotiated with the government and police, offer legal assistance
We stand as ONE.
We demand complete withdrawal of the extradition law amendment bill and we will not be dismissed
Justice for all (I)
reading local news after a weeklong hiatus
No riot, only Tyranny (the protesters occupied the Legislative Council Building on 1st July)
Thanks to every citizen that fights for Hong Kong.
You are me, I am you. (LIHKG, that acts as one of the major platforms for the info, exchange and discussion of protesting activities. )
Thanks to all the Brothers and Sisters of the online forum LIHKG.
We abandon our future but not our fellow protesters (Despite agreeing to respect others decisions, dozens of protesters returned to the legco building to carry 4 protesters who wanted to stay and be arrested while chanting "Leave together, leave no one behind". Following displays of police brutality a few days before and several protesters killed themselves out of desperation, protesters refused to lose any more of their fellows.
Thanks to everyone who went back to the Legislative Council and carried the 4 protester to leave.
Fucking report, and report the truth (on 12th June, the police insulted a journalist "Fucking Reporter" when he stated his identity as reporter)
Thanks to every media that reports the fact objectively.
Engines can die but not Hopes (as part of the Non-cooperation movement, a number of drivers claimed their cars broke down on 12th June, which caused traffic jam in main roads)
Thanks to every driver who stopped to join the movement.
No high price, but noble character. (In all the demonstrations took place in Admiralty, people went to the shopping mall Pacific Place to rest, to get away from the tear gas, the riot police, and the mall refuse to let the police enter, they also didn't kick the people out)
Thanks to the Pacific Place for providing a space for the people to rest
Only draw blood, never stabs back. (The Legislative councilor from the Medical sector, Dr. Hon. Pierre Chan came forward and exposed there is privacy invasion as the police had been accessing the hospitals' computer systems, in order to search for the protesters wounded in Admiralty and arrested them illegally.)
Thanks to Dr. Hon. Pierre Chan for protecting the rights and dignity of the patients.
We go together and leave together, no withdrawal No dismissal
Thanks to every citizen that participated in the anti-extradition bill protest.
The fight is not over
After so many protests in June and July
The government still refuse to listen
They blamed the social unrest on the protestors
Allowing the police to use excessive force when handling the protests
And painted the citizens who dared to voice their opinions as Rioters
It might be frustrating but we will not give up
The protesters occupied the Legislative Council on 1st July evening. They smashed the glass door to enter the building and did graffiti
(Photo:Gettyimages)(on the banner: there are no rioters, only tyranny)
One of the slogan sprayed on the wall said "It was you who taught me peaceful marches did not work."
The protesters stayed for a few hours then left the building before the police arrive. There were 4 of them insisted to stay, claiming 'they had planned to die in the building'. Though their insistence, nearly 100 protesters went back in to bring them out, made sure they leave together, when asked by a journalist why they decided to go back, are they not afraid, one of them said they are scare but they are in this together, and either leave together or stay in the complex together.
It is understandable why the protesters focus so much on this, there had been 3 protesters committed suicide to protest against the extradition law and the government's lack of response to the 5 demands. An awareness had been raised within the community that they cannot lose another protestor.
Fly high.
