Fellow GMs: Ever get that feeling when you're planning a game with a big, elaborate fight scene inside of a building, and you realize that you have absolutely no idea how to build a floorplan that looks anything like the kind of building you had in mind?
Like, "Okay, keep cool, and maybe no one will realize you've drawn bathrooms large enough to park an SUV in, walls that are more than a meter thick, and staircases that would give safety inspectors shivering nightmares for weeks. Just act like it's normal."
No problem. Unless, of course, you're GMing for a group that includes one or more trained architects/interior designers/etc, in which case I can only hope that they are merciful.
In this particular case, fortunately, I'm designing a map for a D20 game, which means that characters move and behave like perfectly regular 5x5x5 cube people. All the regular rules for building designing clearly go right out the window.
