Lego Custom Build: Steven Grant's Apartment
Some time ago, I bought a Lego Moon Knight minifig with Steven Grant's suit (Mr. Knight), AND IT COMES WITH A GUS FISHTANK!!! 😍😍😍
I had this figure for a few months (even made it a non-binary flag, pic above), when the fish tank was lost in a tragic accident (fell off the table). After a few weeks of searching, I finally just ordered the minifig again, because I couldn't stand the thought of Steven being upset about their fish. (Now that I type that out, I literally did the same thing as Marc, getting a replacement pet 🤭). So naturally a week after the new one comes in, we find the previous one. 🙄 I'm so happy because we have two complete sets, but now I'm thinking...Steven and Gus need a safer place to live.
And what safer place than Steven's apartment? 😄
The problem is...there is no Moon Knight Lego set commercially available. The only ones out there are custom creations, and I couldn't find anything close to Steven's apartment.
So I'm making it myself. I've always been a "follow the directions" builder; this is my first custom Lego build. I'm using Brick Link Studio (free Lego building software) to design some of the elements, so I can more easily order the specialty parts I'll need.
And while I was ordering some of the parts to start on bookshelves, I decided to make a Steven Grant and "Doctor" Harrow.
For Steven, the hair is the same one used for Poe Dameron, but I'm not sure which head to use. The worried line face (above) seems like the right attitude, but it has freckles. The other Steven option, alongside Marc (have to get Marc a better torso at some point):
This project is going to take quite a while, partly because I'm going to have to buy so many bricks just to even build the walls and part of the ceiling. Plus I'm learning as I go; I think I spent two hours today trying to make a couch and a chair based on tutorials, only to find out I was missing several connectors I needed. If I finish within a year, I'll be very happy.
