The backlash against queer as a slur is very recent, and it is fabricated. I’ve been on this site since 2012 and I’ve seen this divide form. Queer is an umbrella term, it has always been,and it is a part of our history. It was accepted, and it was a part of the very fabric of the community until 2015 when a group of people moved to undermine it as a term and began spreading this campaign the which you are now blindly participating in and perpetuating.

I don’t think you’re a bad person, but you have been mislead and right now you are being willfully ignorant and that is unacceptable to me as someone who values education and understanding. It’s the same kind of ignorance that has lead you to assume countless things throughout this argument with no founding. Read. Learn. Be better than that.
