Men will never understand how heartbreaking it is to realize as women that we love men who can never really love us, because they are raised in a culture that makes them unable to. That culture have made them internalize such an entitlement that it doesn’t even cross their minds that they don’t empathize with women. They feel entitled to everything, even to those women’s love whose mere well-being, safety, and basic rights they don’t even care about. And it is seen as normal that we give our bodies and souls to these men. And it is not normal: it is violent.

Slow burner love: a type of love that is guided by care, letting passion be developed and tasted at a slow pace, making space to get to know each other and build trust, and letting the flame smoothly unravel bit by bit on a steady wave.

In a cozy room with your favourite person, showing them your favourite songs, eager for their reaction, then sharing the excitement, laughing just because of the joy. Looking at each other, dancing around, singing for each other, playing like kids. Listening in silence for moments, just feeling. Hugging and feeling safe. That is how I want it to be.

As I grow older I say goodbye to illusions and people I wished for years to be in my life. I start coming to terms with the fact that people are what they are, and can only offer you what they have and want to. Some won’t even offer you anything and you have to accept the truth, as hard as it is. That’s the only way of of giving a real opportunity to those who WANT to offer you everything and who WILL offer you everything. You can have it all. Just put your attention on the right ones.

As I grow older I work harder at reminding myself not to dwell on the past and to make space in my heart for the future. I want to be open for real people and real love, and I need to slam the door of the past for that. I don’t need the anti-manifesting energy of the unpleasant things I’ve had the unpleasure to know. I want the light, the comfortable, the passionate, the warm, the easy and flowing energy.
