Happy 30rd birthday, Leigh-Anne Pinnock! I definitely feel that it’s taken me a long while to completely feel comfortable in the skin that I’m in. Sadly we live in a society that is inbuilt with racism and I just hope that by speaking up on my personal experience, I can help raise some awareness on this f–ked up situation. I really did feel invisible and replaceable for a considerable amount of time within the band, but I truly believe as the years have gone on I’m beginning to own it more and more. I’ve always been proud of who I am but maybe for a while I forgot how special and powerful that is. Being black is powerful, being black is beautiful and I’m ready to shout it to the world!

Fighting tears, the new mum of twins told the crowd: "I'm 30 years old, I know my character - you know my character, anyone who meets me knows my f***ing character. That is all I care about.

"I am so proud of everything I have achieved; a beautiful fiance I'm pretty much obsessed with, and the two most perfect f***ing babies.

"Everything I stand for, everything I am fighting for, it is for them and I will never stop. I have found my voice now and I will continue to use it. Tonight we celebrate life, health, good friends, and amazing family - I love you all."

Wrapping his arms around his fianceé, footballer Andre took over the mic as he said: "We haven't finished yet, it's my turn… If anyone has anything to say, come and find me"

“I feel like it’s down to being in a girl, pop group. People assume that we shouldn’t have a voice or that we don’t have much to say or that we don’t write our own music. That’s been an ongoing thing, but we’ve done everything in our power to, well, completely get rid of that stereotype. Just because we are in a girl group, it doesn’t mean that we don’t do our own shit. Everything comes from us and it always has. We just laugh at the people that have nothing good to say about that, to be honest. We know who we are and what we do. I’m very proud of how we stand up for things and how we use our voice.”
